2014 Golden Globes - Neutrals (Part I)

Rashida Jones brought her cool style to the red carpet at the Golden Globes.  The 'Parks & Recreation' star wore a dress from the Fausto Puglisi Spring 2014 collection.  I loved this cream dress with a gold embellished palm tree design from the moment I saw the runway picture and I can't think of a better person to wear it than Rashida. A top-knot, pear ear-cuffs and a dark lip colour complimented her look.

Jenna Dewan accompanied husband Channing Tatum looking beautiful in a custom Roberto Cavalli dress. The white fishtail hem gown boasted stunning and intricate black beading, upon a super white and fresh background. Jenna finished the look with sleek, straight strands, a glossy red lip colour and Irene Neuwirth jewels.

Robin Wright won the award for Best TV Actress for 'House of Cards', she also got engaged this week to fiance, Ben Foster.  She chose a subtle, shimmery gown by Reem Acra for the occassion, which suited her minimalist style perfectly but got a little unflattering at times.

Paula Patton attended the Golden Globes this year as a presenter.  The actress wore an overly dramatic Stephane Rolland dress from his Spring 2013 Couture collection.  While I admire her for the risk, the look failed due to the styling - there was just too much going on here.  The ruffles on the side should have been the focus, instead, our eyes were drawn to those large earrings, the cocktail ring and the heavy Charlotte Olympia platform pumps.  Some restrain would have made this look a success.

Kate Mara showed off her platinum locks in a daring, dove grey gown from her favourite: J. Mendel. The Pre-Fall 2014 dress had a plunging neckline, power shoulders and a fairly difficult colour to carry off but Kate makes it work.

Emilia Clarke from 'Game of Thrones' looked lovely in a Proenza Schouler gown.  The unusual texture of the dress suit her style perfectly.  Wavy hair and gold jewels added a warmth to her look.
