Ellie Kemper In Giorgio Armani - 2012 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Ellie Kemper attended the 14th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards earlier this week, where she presented an award.

'The Office' & 'Bridesmaids' actress wore a strapless, block striped Giorgio Armani Spring 2012 dress to the event. 

 It was a perfect choice in my view: it's unique enough to be worn at an event that honours costume designers & looks fabulous on Ellie.

 An elegant updo, a nude lip colour, clutch & black pumps were the finishing touches.

Rooney Mara In J. Mendel - 2012 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Rooney Mara wore a J. Mendel Fall 2012 dress to the 2012 Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverley Hills.

The eggplant coloured dress with a plunge-neck dress was great on Rooney (and I'm glad she's finally running out of LBDs).

 She wore it not with black pumps, but nude sandals and used a lipstick that matched her dress.

Kate Beckinsale In Vivienne Westwood - 2012 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Kate Beckinsale wore a Vivienne Westwood gown for the Costume Designers Guild Awards.

The lilac and soft grey dress had a subtle fan print as well as an off-shoulder neckline which gave it a romantic aura.

Kate tends to favour pale colours and that can get boring sometimes but I simply love this dress on her which she wore with a chic updo and statement earrings.

Chloe Moretz In Vivienne Westwood - 2012 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Chloe Moretz debuted pink highlights in a Vivienne Westwood dress as she attended the Costume Designers Guild Awards.

The velvet dress with an uneven hem felt a little age inappropriate on Chloe - there's nothing youthful about it.  I'm not a fan of her matching heels either (with that dress).

Celebrating Costume Designers

Costume designers have a such a big contribution towards the movies that we watch! The first impressions are always made by appearance and the designers have a big contribution in helping create 'looks' for characters. The Costume Designers Guild Awards took place in LA last night and here are the famous few attendees.

Kristin Davis looked very pretty in a monochromatic polka dot gown by Oscar de la Renta - it suits her style perfectly!

Halle Berry turned heads in a stunning red lace dress by Elie Saab - she should have worn something like this at the Golden Globes!


Demi Moore wore an electric blue ruched column gown with a fishtail braid and drop diamond earrings, I'm skeptical about the ruching near the leg but all in all, this look is a winner. The colour looks gorgeous on her and once again she defies nature by looking like this at forty-freaking-eight.

Claire Danes wore a grey Lanvin dress with embellishments - it's really dull and I'm not particularly liking the slicked back hair.
