Kerry Washington in Oscar de la Remta - 2013 NAACP Image Awards

It was a big night for Kerry Washington at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards in LA.  The actress not only won the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her work in 'Scandal', but also the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, for 'Django Unchained' and the President's Award for public service.

To top it all off, she looked gorgeous in a pretty Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 dress; I loved the combination of the two pastel colours and the entire silhouette.  Since the dress was so eye-catching anyway, Kerry wisely opted for simple hair and fresh make-up, finishing off the look with Louboutin pumps and a Kotur clutch.

Freida Pinto in James Ferreira - 2013 NAACP Image Awards

It was a beautiful emerald green dress for Indian actress Freida Pinto at the annual NAACP Image Awards.  Freida's dress was designed by Indian designer James Ferreira.

I thought the colour was absolutely divine, and the draping flattered her petite figure too.  She finished off the look with side-swept luscious hair and a ruby red Judith Leiber clutch, which provided an ideal contrast.

Halle Berry in Vivienne Westwood - 2013 NAACP Image Awards

Halle Berry also attended the 2013 NAACP Image Awards.

She looked stunning in a two-tone, draped silk Vivienne Westwood gown that highlighted her amazing figure.  Halle should have done something more along the lines of this at the Golden Globes too.

Archie Panjabi looked gorgeous at the NAACP Image Awards.

The British actress, who stars as Kalinda Sharma on 'The Good Wife' wore a strapless, sparkly gown by Lorena Sarbu.

She kept her look very simple and clean, finishing it up with a sleek ponytail, diamond earrings and an equally sparkly clutch.

Jennifer Hudson looked stunning in a Maria Lucia Hohan  gown at the 43rd annual NAACP Image Awards which recognises African American talent.

This is probably the best appearance of a Maria Lucia Hohan gown I've seen on the red carpet so far. The lavender colour is wonderful, and Jennifer styled it perfectly.

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji - 2012 NAACP Image Awards

Octavia Spencer wore a Tadashi Shoji dress for the 43rd NAACP Awards.

This time however, she wore a bright colour which was a nice change.  Octavia wore the draped dress with wavy, loose curls which exuded a laid back kind of vibe.

Viola Davis wore a Herve Leroux dress to this year's NAACP Image Awards.

The tangerine colour of this dress is gorgeous on her but there's far too much cleavage, it's not subtle at all.  Matching earrings and a studded Leiber clutch completed her look.

Amber almost always gets it right at award functions and this was no different.  The navy blue, one-shoulder, sequined column gown was beautiful on the 'Glee' actress.
