Isla Fisher in Oscar de la Renta - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Isla Fisher blew me away with her look at the Screen Actors Guild Awards this year.

I always think Isla's beauty is brought down by her red carpet style which, in my opinion, tends to be rather on the boring and uninspiring side.

So much to my surprise, she really brought old Hollywood glamour to the proceedings on Saturday evening in her slinky, white silk Oscar de la Renta gown which was worn with her hair styled in waves, rich burgundy lips and gorgeous diamond jewelry by Bulgari.

Isla Fisher in Oscar de la Renta - 2013 Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony & 'The Great Gatsby' Premiere

Isla Fisher walked the red carpet in red at the opening ceremony of Cannes and the premiere of her movie 'The Great Gatsby'.

Her silk chiffon Oscar de la Renta dress with a strapless bodice and ruffled layers was certainly eye-catching but overwhelmed her petite figure.  A sleek, more grown up silhouette would have worked better for her. 

To add to the woes, she wore her hair down and added a mismatched Buglari necklace.

Isla Fisher wore a Dolce & Gabbana dress to the photocall of 'The Great Gatsby' earlier today.

The Aussie redhead looked lovely in white, a colour that is always a popular choice for photocalls during the festival.

Her look was completed with wavy locks, bright matte red lips and black peep-toes.

Isla Fisher wore a lovely Monique Lhuillier gown to the after party.

I think Isla has a pretty face and gorgeous hair, but her looks always seem so average to me.  She has the potential to blow it out of the water, let's hope that day comes soon.

Isla Fisher in Stella McCartney - 'Bachelorette' NYC Premi

Isla Fisher sparkled at the New York City held premiere of her latest movie called 'Bachelorette'.

The Australian actress played it pretty in a shimmering gold mini dress by Stella McCartney without sleeves and with a v-neck.

I'm not a fan of Isla's style, mainly because it just puts me to sleep.  Here she looks pretty in a sparkly dress, sandals and pretty hair but there's nothing to excite or intrigue me.

Isla Fisher in Dolce & Gabbana - 'The Dictator' London Premiere

For the premiere of her husband's movie, Isla Fisher wore a Dolce & Gabbana dress.

I think Isla is very pretty but she seems to be drawn towards very teeny-bopper type dresses, which is rather unfortunate.  

She looked good in this silver, lacy dress but it felt age inappropriate somehow.  Maybe it was because of her hair and red heels.  I would have rather seen her wear some sleek sandals.
