Isla Fisher in Oscar de la Renta - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Isla Fisher blew me away with her look at the Screen Actors Guild Awards this year.

I always think Isla's beauty is brought down by her red carpet style which, in my opinion, tends to be rather on the boring and uninspiring side.

So much to my surprise, she really brought old Hollywood glamour to the proceedings on Saturday evening in her slinky, white silk Oscar de la Renta gown which was worn with her hair styled in waves, rich burgundy lips and gorgeous diamond jewelry by Bulgari.

Sandra Bullock in Lanvin - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Sandra Bullock dazzled in green at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The 'Gravity' actress wore a Lanvin dress with a wrap effect and a strapless top.  The design didn't draw me so much as that stunning colour and texture of the fabric, especially in context of Sandra's dark hair and eyes.

The only complain I have here is the choice to go completely bare in the accessories department, save for the bangle and the Roger Vivier clutch.  Perhaps some silver knot earrings or a simple necklace could have made a difference.  She finished the look off with pink cheeks and lips and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Mindy Kaling in David Meister - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Mindy Kaling was a presenter at this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The funny lady wore a dark blue draped David Meister dress to the event which was jazzed up via her gold waist band and choice of accessories.  A wavy hairstyle, Jennifer Fisher earrings and a black and gold Jerome C. Rousseau clutch finished her elegant look.

Hannah Simone in Marchesa - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

'New Girl' actress, Hannah Simone attended Saturday evening's Screen Actors Guild Awards.

She was just ethereal in a soft, barely there light blue Marchesa Resort 2014 gown.  I loved the pale colour and the feminine detail such as the feather neckline and the pleated wide skirt with a slight train.

We usually see Hannah with her hair left straight down, so her teased bouffant updo was a surprising change and made her look beautiful. Glossy nude lips and simple diamond studs by Neil Lane completed her look.

Kaley Cuoco in Vera Wang - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Kaley Cuoco reverted back to her beloved, Vera Wang at this year's SAG Awards.

The dove grey gown stayed true to Kaley's preferred style of mermaid or classic ballgowns but this is a vast improvement on her Golden Globes look .

A wavy hairstyle, strong blue eye make-up, Lorraine Schwartz provided sparkle and a Ferragamo clutch finished her look.

Tina Fey in Oscar de la Renta - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Tina Fey opted for a black dress at this year's SAG Awards.

While I like the clean cut lines and the fit of this Oscar de la Renta dress, there's something too sombre and dull about it.  And the severe bun with a centre parting doesn't really help.

On the brighter side, how adorable does Tina's daughter, Alice look!?

Claire Danes in Vionnet - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Claire Danes didn't win anything for 'Homeland' this year but she looked fabulous nonetheless, while attending the annual SAG Awards with husband Hugh Dancy.

She wore a Vionnet dress which was a lovely departure from the slightly typical gowns of the evening.  The multiple sheer fabrics layered up together to create a light effect, taken up a notch with the addition of those diamond shaped blue palettes.

Darker hair and smokey eyes added an edge to Claire's unusual look.

Morena Baccarin in Monique Lhuillier - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

'Homeland' actress Morena Baccarin attended the SAG awards last evening.

She chose a cornflower blue Monique Lhuillier dress with a portrait neckline and tulle.  It was a clean, elegant look that I quite liked.

Elisabeth Moss in Michael Kors - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Elisabeth Moss was the sole lady in red at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

She wore a beautifully red, chiffon Michael Kors gown with a strapless bodice, and a simple black waist band.  Elisabeth matched her dress to her lip colour, creating a classic, but modern look.

Emilia Clarke in Calvin Klein - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Emilia Clarke looked great again, this time at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

She wore a shimmery, rose-gold Calvin Klein Collection dress with one shoulder.  I love the fluidity and the texture of her dress and am glad the rest of her look was kept simple.

A side parted low bun, bold brows and pink lips completed her look; if I had to change something though, I'd make that matte black Rauwolf clutch disappear.

Jennifer Garner in Max Mara - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Jennifer Garner was a presenter at this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards.

She looked lovely like always in a strapless, midnight blue dress by Max Mara, a label she acts as the face of.  It was a simple, classic design which didn't try to grab attention.

An updo and statement earrings by David Webb finished her look.

Lupita Nyong'o in Gucci - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Lupita Nyong'o won the Best Supporting Actress award for '12 Years a Slave' last night.

She was also the best dressed lady of the night, a unanimous agreement on all social networking sites and media.  Her turquoise Gucci dress with a floral neckline was a dream.

The colour worked wonders on her smooth, glowing skin and I liked how she kept up with colour through her make-up. My best dressed!

Julia Roberts in Valentino - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Pink was a popular colour at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Julia Roberts turned to the shade through her Valentino jumpsuit with flared bottoms.  I love the colour on her (so good to see her in anything but black and white!) but a better fit on the top would have made this look even better.

No complaints in the hair and make-up department as her brunette locks looked shiny and bouncy and the make-up was flawless. Silver accessories completed her look and I love that Roger Vivier clutch.

Meryl Streep in Stella McCartney - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Meryl Streep wore a plain black Stella McCartney dress to the 2014 SAG Awards.

The Best Actress nominee's look felt uninspiring and dull, and totally not suitable for an awards ceremony.  There's something way too casual about it all; Meryl has done a lot better in the past.

Sofia Vergara in Donna Karan Atelier - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Sofia Vergara wore Donna Karan Atelier to last evening's SAG Awards.

I was expecting something clingy (which this is) bordering on tacky (which this isn't). Sofia's silver dress dripping with sequins was just plain beautiful.

I liked the styling on this occasion too - the curls, and that stunning Amrapali necklace.

Kerry Washington in Prada - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Kerry Washington left everyone shocked at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The 'Scandal' actress (no pun intended) who is currently pregnant skipped the gown routine by going for a pink, crystal and floral applique encrusted crop top (yes, a crop top) that was worn with a flared and pleated black satin skirt, all custom-made by Prada.

The outfit sure covered her baby bump and for me at least, it worked without looking crazy.  But then that's Kerry Washington.

A high bun, hot pink and red Prada clutch and Louboutin pumps completed her look.

Helen Mirren in Escada - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Helen Mirren looked better than ever at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The British legend, who was nominated for and won the Best Actress in a Miniseries award, looked splendid in a black, full sleeved Escada Pre-Fall 2014 dress with gold embroidery and a big satin bow at the waist.

Matching earrings by Neil Lane and red lips were the finishing touches, along with the black Brian Atwoods.

Amy Adams in Antonio Berardi - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Amy Adams was a complete head turner at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night.

She wore a bright, electric blue coloured dress with a fitted bodice, one shoulder and a silver waist band by none another than Antonio Berardi.

I was expecting something sequined/pastel from Amy but she surprised in the best way.  A beautiful, sculpted hairstyle and colorful Cartier earrings finished her look, along with the perfect bold matte red lip and pewter Brian Atwood peep-toe pumps.

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Jennifer Lawrence stuck to Dior at the 2014 SAG Awards.

It was another Fall 2013 Couture dress for her but not the usual ballgown affair.  She picked a super glitzy maroon and navy blue (and striped, but that's not too visible in the photos) and form-fitting column dress.  This streamlined and sleek dress was a complete winner.

Matching Jennifer Mayer jewels finished her look.

Natalie Dormer in Marios Schwab - 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Natalie Dormer created quite the buzz at last night's  Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The 'Game of Thrones' actress debuted a half shaved head in a simple white dress by British label Marios Schwab.  The signature Schwab detail comes via the black, punctured shoulders.

Extra edge was added through the accessories, including the ear cuff and the braided hairstyle.
