Dakota Fanning in Valentino - 'The Last Of Robin Hood' at 2013 TIFF

Dakota Fanning was pretty in blue at the premiere of  'The Last Of Robin Hood' in Toronto.

The young actress, who more often than not sticks to neutrals, surprised by donning this royal blue silk Valentino Fall 2013 frock with a neat portrait neckline and full sleeves.

A half-up, half-down hairstyle added interest, as did the cat eyes and red lips.  Dakota also wore nude heels, which kept attention on the dress.

Dakota Fanning wore Rodarte on the red carpet at the 2013 Met Ball.

The sleek black gown with a leg slit signals a change in her style, which used to be all about sweet, tulle dresses in nude/pastel shades.

A straight but messy hairstyle and winged eyeliner finished completed the beauty part, and in terms of accessories, she wore Van Cleef & Arpels jewels, carried a Roger Vivier clutch and wore H&M Coscious Red Carpet Collection heels.

Dakota Fanning - 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2' Promotions So Far

Dakota Fanning made her presence felt at the two premieres of 'Breaking Dawn'.

The young actress wore a gorgeous teal dress from the Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture collection for the LA premiere.  The dress was amazing obviously, but I was surprised to see Dakota with so much make-up on.  Guess she's a grown up now.

For the New York City screening, she opted for a Valentino Spring 2013 dress.  The dark, navy coloured dress looked okay on her, I wish it didn't become so lopsided in the middle though.  The extreme bed-head hair was also a little off-putting.

Dakota Fanning in Gucci - 2012 AFI Life Achievement Award Ceremony

Dakota Fanning looked wonderful as she stepped out to honor Shirley MacLaine at the AFI Award ceremony in California.

She wore a colour block dress with a pleated skirt by Gucci.  I love the studded black belt with dragonfly motif which she matched with her black clutch.


On this occasion, her straight hair totally works.

Dakota Fanning attended the CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday evening in NYC with Proenza Schoulder desginers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.

She, of course, wore a silk brocade dress from the label's orient inspired Proenza Schouler Fall 2012 collection.

I'm so thankful that Dakota did something different with her hair.  This dress required this wet, low bun.  Not the boring, straight style Dakota usually sports.  A silver clutch and Proenza Schouler heels completed her fashion-forward look.

Dakota Fanning was clad in pastels at the Met Ball.

She wore a custom Louis Vuitton ball-gown which instantly brought meringues and pastries to my mind - I suppose that isn't a bad thing.

She stood her ground despite all the voluminous fabric around her and carried this backless gown off with poise.

Dakota didn't change it up at this event - she still stuck to the straight hair, pastel gown theme but I loved her embellished Prada gown.

Dakota Fanning in Elie Saab - 6th Annual DKMS Linked Against Blood Cancer Gala

Dakota Fanning wore yet another neutral coloured dress (an Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture, no less) at the DKMS Linked Against Blood Cancer Gala.

I don't get it. She's so young, yet she chooses such boring shades that it's frustrating.   I love me some Elie Saab Haute Couture but this dress is so dated on Dakota.

The hair was dull as always and the make-up uninspiring.

Dakota Fanning attended this year's Tribeca Film Festival Vanity Fair Party in NYC.

The young actress wore a pink Lanvin Pre-Fall 2012 dress for the event.  I love that she wore this bright, cheery colour as she tends to prefer pastel hues.

But I have to ask, what is that thing on her head?!

Her trademark straight hairstyle and pointy Lanvin pumps completed the look.

Dakota Fanning in Elie Saab - Elie Saab Private Dinner in NYC

Dakota Fanning put on her best LBD for a private dinner with Elie Saab in NYC last night.

The young actress chose a dress from the Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2012 collection.

There are no flaws in this LBD with a lace neck and peplum waist but it's a bit serious for someone so young.  Dakota could've picked something colourful and bright from the Spring or Resort collections.

She completed the look with a poppy clutch and black heels.

Dakota Fanning wore a vintage Halston dress to the GLAAD Media Awards in NYC last night.

She looked good in this halter ivory gown with golden embroidery and a tulip hem.

Also, she didn't wear pumps!  Dakota carried gold box clutch by Ferregamo and slinky Manolo Blahnik gold sandals.

Dakota Fanning attended the Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Awards in a Miu Miu Spring 2012 dress.

The lavender coloured satin dress with a stripe cutout could have washed her out but I like that she added the black head band and clutch.

Nude pointy heels (boring) completed her look.
