Olivia Wilde, Busy Phillips & Beth Behrs - 2014 CFDA Awards

The 2014 CFDA Awards took place in New York City last evening.

Olivia Wilde wore a fringed black one shoulder dress from Decades LA with soft wavy hair and black accessories.

Busy Phillips was clad in a red Honor gown with a high neck, although that white Irene Neuwirth necklace did puzzle me.

Beth Behrs looked sprightly in her emerald green Alice + Olivia ensemble of a crop top and a skirt with a high-low hemline.  I love the playfullness of her look.

Olivia Munn in Alice + Olivia - 2012 Do Something Awards

Olivia Munn wore a pretty pink dress at the 2012 Do Something Awards.

The actress, who was a presenter was clad in a hot pink, sleeveless dress with a swirl pattern by Alice + Olivia.

I'm warming up to Olivia's style lately as she is always mixing up different colours and silhouettes, along with brands and labels.

At this event, she wore her hair up and finished off her look with cream Sole Society pumps.

Carrie Underwood in Alice + Olivia & 7 For All Mankind - 'The Today Show' Performance

Carrie Underwood performed in New York City last week on 'The Today Show'.

The country singer sparkled on stage in a blush, sequined top by Alice + Olivia and lamé detail cut-offs by 7 For All Mankind.

Stage performances usually call for something bold and eye-catching but in Carrie's case here, it was all a bit too much.  The big, blonde hair, sequins, shorts, heavy earrings got visually overwhelming.  I did, however, like her Brian Atwood heels.

Odette Annable in Alice + Olivia - 'Celeste & Jesse Forever' Premiere

The gorgeous Odette Annable joined Rashida Jones at the premiere of Rashida's latest movie called 'Celeste & Jesse Forever'.

Odette decided to go bold for the night, by wearing a navy, floral print blouse and cobalt blue shorts by Alice + Olivia.

The blouse-shorts combination was great but I absolutely hated how she wore those red boots with it; winter is approaching so surely you'd want to wear your summery sandals while you can right?  The boots just look out of place.

Models at the 2012 CFDA Awards

Karolina Kurkova looked great in a printed Tommy Hilfiger dress, which the leggy lady wore with straight hair, orange lips and matching black and yellow sandals.

Arizone Muse was chic in a silver, sequined Diane von Furstenberg mini which she wore with black accessories, including an embellished clutch and black boots.  The entire look was made for Arizona.

Emily Blunt in Jason Wu - 'The Five-Year Engagement' NYC Premiere

Emily Blunt attended the New York City held premiere of her new romantic comedy, 'The Five-Year Engagement' in which stars with Jason Segel.

The actress wore a Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 fress with green embroidery on the bodice and a flared skirt. Needless to say, she looked incredible.

A sleek, deep side parted, low bun, along with very striking earrings, cat-eyes and pink lips added visual impact to her look.  She wore green Alice + Olivia pumps, that  don't entirely go with this dress which was disappointing though.

But this is the most beautiful I've ever seen Emily look.

Krysten Ritter in Alice + Olivia - 'Extra' Appearance at The Grove

Krysten Ritter promoted 'Don't Trust the B—- in Apartment 23' on 'Extra' at The Grove in LA yesterday.

She wore a dotted, black and white frock by Alice + Olivia

 from their Fall 2012 collection.

The dress, with its fun pattern and flared skirt was very much suited to Krysten's persona.

She completed her look with dainty earrings and black ballet flats.

Krysten Ritter in Alice + Olivia - 'Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23' Screening

Krysten Ritter attended the NYC screening of her new comedy television show 'Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23'.

The actress wore a high-neck, satin and lace frock with an flirty skirt by Alice + Olivia.

The dress suits Krysten's personality to the T and I love her choice of tangerine pumps.

Dianna Agron in Alice + Olivia - 'The View' Appearance

Dianna Agron made an appearance on 'The View' last week.

The 'Glee' actress looked wonderful in a blue & yellow, floral Alice + Olivia Fall 2012 dress.  The flare box pleat dress is perfectly suited to her elegant, lady-like style.

She completed her spring appropriate look with navy Jimmy Choo pumps.

Vanessa Hudgens In Alice + Olivia - 'Live! with Kelly' Appearance

Vanessa Hudgens made an appearance on 'Live! with Kelly' in NYC wearing an
Alice + Olivia 'Rozzi' dress.

The white dress with a slip covered by lace was a good choice on Vanessa and her styling didn't disappoint either.

Centre parted curly hair, a black coat accented with a floral piece, a chain-strap Chanel bag & caramel YSL platform pumps completed her look.

Alyson Hannigan In Alice + Olivia - 2012 People's Choice Awards

Alyson Hannigan wore an Alice + Olivia Spring 2012 dress to the PCAs.

The pregnant 'How I Met Your Mother' actress looked adorable in the raspberry coloured shift dress with chain detail.

She wore it with Stuart Weitzman slingbacks, of which I'm not a particular fan (with that dress).

AnnaLynne McCord In Alice + Olivia - 2011 CNN Heroes

AnnaLynne McCord resembled a sugar-plum fairy at the CNN Heroes event.

She wore a deep-blue, strapless frock by Alica + Olivia that had a ruffled skirt.

I might have liked the look had it not been for the high bun and the matching heels.

All-in-Ones Galore

So, long all-in-ones seem to be trying to make a comeback of sorts, if this week's sightings are anything to go by.

Heidi Klum wore a brown piece with a high neck and a cutout. It's not a very flattering silhoutte, making her hips look wider than they are. Also not loving the hair, a softer touch with it could have salvaged this look. Kind of.

Hilary Duff wore an all black number from Alice + Olivia, adding gold accessories to the look and finishing off with a cute oversized clutch. I don't hate it!

Kourtney Kardashian was spotted at an event wearing a bright cherry red satiny all-in-one. The colour looks great against her skintone and the shape lengthens her petite figure.

Sharp Looks

Sharp, tailored pieces always win my vote. Clean lines and silhouettes always look great although there's always a trick to doing these looks right - there has to be a balance of sharp and soft (via loose, flowy hair, necklaces etc.)

Glee
girls Jenna Ushkowitz and Naya Rivera both went for androgynous looks at an event. Jenna's look felt a little trying-too-hard. I think that the jeans let her look down, as did the wrinkled shirt.

Naya Rivera looked great in her figure-hugging outfit (top by Alice + Olivia), those turquoise peeptoes add a pop of colour too.

At an MTV do, Tyra Banks wore a black jumpsuit with a colourful belt, and purple pumps. It's a nice, playful look and Tyra looks pretty good.

At a show in Lakme Fashion Week, newbie actress Sarah Jane Dias wore a white tank, tucked into some tailored silk grey pants and added a chunky turqouise necklace. The straight hair, the skinny belt and those black sandals complete the look.

Fashion Roundup

Here are some of this week's fashion sightings that caught my eye.

Lauren Conrad looked her usual chic self at the
Covergirl party, she wore a cream wrap dress with Jimmy Choo sandals - love the easy breezy look. Emmy Rossum's on such a fashion high of late! I adore her bright orange dress - the gold earrings & burgundy heels add warmth to the look and tone down the brightness of the colour. A pregnant Jennifer Connelly looked great in a drapey grey Lanvin creation, I like the delicate gold necklaces too.
Reese Witherspoon rocked her casual look, adding a colour splash with that scarf to her grey blazer and dove-grey kitten heels. Nicole Richie worked her usual style, wearing denim cutoffs with black tights & Louboutins. She completed the light winter look by wearing an animal-print scarf, black cardigan and a beanie. Oh and who could take their eyes off her red Chanel chain-strap bag? Jessica Szohr looked cute in an Alice + Olivia stripey dress & fuschia peeptoes.
