Aishwarya Rai at the Chime For Change: The Sound Of Change Live Concert

Aishwarya Rai attended the Chime For Change: The Sound Of Change Live Concert in London with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan.

While Abhishek looked smart in a navy suit, Aishwarya wore separates consisting of a textured top, sharp black blazer, leather leggings (and boots).

I liked this drastically different look from her since she always looks so feminine in soft fabrics and designs.  A wavy hairstyle, coral lips and a stone bracelet finished off her rocker look.

Aishwarya Rai in Roberto Cavalli - 2013 Life Ball

Aishwarya Rai continued her tour of the Western hemisphere, attending the Life Ball in Vienna, Austria yesterday.

The Indian beauty wore a figure flattering, dark blue sequin Roberto Cavalli dress.  She was absolutely stunning in it but I thought I'd seen the dress somewhere before - that's because Jennifer Hudson wore it to the Oscars this year (click here to see).

I wish Aishwarya had worn something like this during Cannes, rather than her Abu Jani & Sandeep dress.

Aishwarya Rai in Gucci - 2013 Cannes Film Festival Day 7 & 'Cleopatra' Premiere

Aishwarya Rai scored another success tonight, for the seventh night of the Cannes film festival and the premiere of 'Cleopatra'.

After two neutral toned looks, Aishwarya gave us a zing of colour via her teal Gucci dress with a structured bodice and a draped silk one shoulder and skirt.

The colour was simply amazing on her, and I loved the lightly applied eye make-up that let her blue eyes shine and the contrasting bubblegum pink lip colour.  She also wore her hair in a high bun with quite intricate details, it certainly added extra drama to her look.

Aishwarya Rai in Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla - 2013 Cannes Film Festival Day 6 & 'Blood Ties' Premiere

For her second Cannes red carpet appearance, Aishwarya Rai chose a dress by the Indian designer duo Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla.

The couture dress was summer appropriate with the subtle pastel colours and floral design. Aishwarya certainly looked wonderful wearing it.

My only minor complain is regarding the hair and make-up which felt too heavy for such a pretty dress.  A wavy, teased ponytail and softer make-up would have felt more appropriate.

Aishwarya Rai in Elie Saab - 2013 Cannes Film Festival Day 5 & 'Inside Llewyn Davis' Premiere

The epic beauty that is Aishwarya Rai, made her long due Cannes appearance tonight, at the premiere of 'Inside Llewyn Davis'.

She wore her Cannes go-to, Elie Saab.  Her black Spring 2013 Couture gown boasted a glittering, lace embroidered bodice with cap sleeves and a lace-print skirt.

Glossy, wavy locks, kohl-rimmed eyes, nude lips and a clutch finished off her heavenly look.

Too Peachy

Spotted: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at a Longines event, a watch brand that she endorses.

Elie Saab
was the label of choice for her and while I like the colour, neither the dress nor the jacket are working. A fitted dress would have looked better, with the floaty, embellished jacket on top. The hat is too matchy-matchy and those ankle-strap heels make her legs look stumpy.

Cannes Day 2

The premiere of "Sleeping Beauty" & "Restless" took place on day two of the Cannes Film Festival and the red carpet turnout was splendid.

I was wondering whether Diane Kruger had been invited this year, and was fervently hoping that she was. Thank the fashion gods, she was invited and as always did not disappoint. The shimmery Calvin Klein gown almost looks like liquid gold! Love the red lip and messy hair do too.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan worked that Armani Priv
é gown like no one's business! She wore a geometric cuff and wore her hair in a high top knot.

Rachel McAdams got bored of those elaborate red carpet gowns and went for this gold/tan Monique Lhuillier outfit consisting of an embellished bustier top and high waisted bottoms. Opinions may be divided on this look but I'm going for a like!

Alexa Chung wore a structured white dress with black heels, it's a pretty simple look... a little too simple actually.

Mia Wasikowska wore a deep red Roland Mouret dress with dangly diamond earrings - a clean, simple look again but I wish she'd have some fun considering her age, this look is too rigid.

Vanessa Hudgens surprised me by turning up at a Calvin Klein party. She looked good in a lime green asymmetric dress with white heels from the label; the colour pops against her skin and I'm glad she left her "messy" look at home.

Aishwarya Rai attended a photocall for a recently announced movie, called "Heroine" in a great day look! She wore a tan trench dress from Lanvin with black heels from the label.

Cannes Day 1

It's May! And the 64th Cannes Film Festival has officially begun, be prepared to see the red carpet dotted with suited photographers and the beautiful clothes (and faces) they'll be taking photos of.

White was a popular choice for the photocalls - Rachel McAdams looked wonderful in a Maxime Simoens dress - I love the summery feel the of it what with the crisp white fabric and the flower-topped shoulders and hips; she wore nude Ferragamo peeptoes.

Uma Thurman wore a knee-length Dolce & Gabbana dress with strappy stilettos.

At the "Kung-Fu Panda 2" photocall, Angelina Jolie wore a light sand coloured summer dress cinched in at the waist with a tan belt, all by Salvatore Ferragamo; she looked great.

On the red carpet, Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore this one-shoulder peplum gown from Elie Saab, with a gold box clutch from Jimmy Choo, I'm liking the understated look.

Rachel McAdams was back in this illusion Marchesa gown - I'm pretty much in love with this entire look.

Uma Thurman, who's on the jury this year wore a strapless white Versace gown with a feathered train. I don't like feathered trains so I'm not loving this gown.

Salma Hayek looked great in this pale, shimmery Gucci premiere gown, so beautiful!

FICCI Closing Ceremony Style

Spotted: Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aishwarya Rai at the closing ceremony of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

Vidya stuck to her trademark Sabyasachi saree, going for a lime green hue. I love the colour but the blouse looked a little too busy.

Sonakshi Sinha wore a white dress from the Anita Dongre Timeless collection. It's not obvious from the photo but she had her hair up in a slick ponytail - simple yet striking.

Aishwarya Rai (spotted with Shah Rukh Khan) wore a light pink net saree (probably by Manish Malhotra). Needless to say, I'm not a fan even though her face looks beautiful as usual.

Fashion Roundup

Camilla Alves & Matthew McConaughey, seen at the premiere of his new flick, "The Lincoln Lawyer" - Camilla wore a simple black Camilla & Marc gown and Matthew opted for a grey Dolce & Gabbana suit. The suit's a little too shiny for my liking but at least he broke away from black! And anyone notice how beautiful they look together?

Rashida Jones was also at a screening of her new movie, "Monogamy". Jones wore a printed yellow and black Thakoon sheath, pairing it with black tights and booties. It's a tad too busy but it's the fringe that I have the real issue with.

Mila Kunis attended the Cosmopolitan Awards, in NYC wearing this all white Bocanegra suit, love the way she balanced the sharpness by wearing her hair loose and flowy.

Emma Stone took in the Louis Vuitton Fall 2011 show in Paris wearing a wrap dress - it's too 80's for my liking and those suede boots are not helping.

Aishwarya Rai was at a charity event wearing a pale Abu Jaani & Sandeep Khosla salwar kameez with Aldo sandals - she looks absolutely lovely and suitably restrained for the event.

Jennifer Aniston was in Mexico City for the launch of her perfume. She wore a one-shoulder nude Valentino Haute Couture dress with strappy sandals. The dress showcases her toned body and that golden tan perfectly!

Nicole Richie attended the Givenchy show in Paris wearing this leather sheath with snakeskin print Louboutins. It's a very fierce look for her but she just about pulls it off... if only she'd gone easy on the fake tan.

Emmy Rossum was at an event wearing this beautiful amber coloured Amanda Wakely dress, it had me at the colour! But she accessorised it well too, with those statement earrings and gold heels.

At the NAACP Image Awards, Kerry Washington wore a simple yet feminine Zac Posen gown, the colour and cut look very fresh on her.

Halle Berry wore a Pucci gown with cutouts. Only she could rock a dress like this without looking tacky!

Cosmopolitan Awards

Last night, The Cosmopolitan 'Fun and Fearless' Awards took place in Mumbai. The whole event was highly paradoxical as the attendees' clothes were anything but fun and/or fearless.

Avantika & Imran Khan wore black an
d have to say, looked very polished. I'm going to go easy on Avantika as she's not one to usually shun away from colour or interesting silhouettes. Maybe she just wanted to co-ordinate with her husband? (She's wearing a Gauri & Nainika gown).

Aishwarya Rai
disappointed me by donning an all black suit that wasn't even well made. That and the hairstyle just aged her look. If she had to go the suit way, she could have chosen this cool white Emilio Pucci suit (minus the casual accessories & blue shirt), and paired it with a simple slick ponytail and statement jewels.
Malaika Arora Khan chose a beige body-con dress and wore some chunky gold jewellery with it - it just doesn't work. The accessories don't go well and the dress is just too short.

Anushka Sharma also misse
d the mark, in this really lame black gown - it has no personality whatsoever. This gorgeous Gucci Spring 2011 would have looked stunning on Anushka, alas, one can only wish.

Indian TV personality Ambika Anand dressed for the occassion in a cheery combination of a neon orange shirt dress and a yellow Jimmy Choo bag - the nude kitten heels work perfectly with the look.

Socialite Prerna Goel went for a printe
d Issa dress and added a gold clutch. However, I'm not liking those shoes at all.
Kareena Kapoor wore a peachy Elie Saab gown with a halterneck and pockets! It's not the worst look but something about it doesn't work. For Kareena, I would have chosen this teal Andrew Gn number, the colour and cut would have looked fabulous on her. Also, as lovely as her hair is, I wish she'd try a new look once in a while.

The Oscars - Warm Hues

Red was back in business at this year's Oscars!

Sandra Bullock pulled all stops in a gorgeous red taffeta gown by Vera Wang, she looks incredible.

Anne Hathaway looked breathtaking in a vintage Valentino gown, the soft hairdo, matte red lips, diamonds... they all combine to make her look absolutely stunning!

Jennifer Hudson's orange Atelier Versace gown was certainly bright. I have issues with her chest area.

Aishwarya Rai wore Armani Priv
é Fall 2010- the chocolate brown gown, bedazzled with pailletes looks better on the runway than in person though. I would've loved to see her in Elie Saab to be honest.

Filmfare Awards - Hits

One can (almost) never go wrong wearing a saree, it's naturally elegant and looks great on any body type. Cases in point: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Dia Mirza. Both Aishwarya and Preity opted for Manish Malhotra designs... the man can do subtle! (sort of). Aishwarya looked heavenly in a sparkly white saree while Preity wore red and looked radiant in it! Dia's was a lacy black Gaurav Gupta couture creation and she looked rather statuesque wearing it.

Sonakshi Sinha's chiffon gown in a lime green hue stood out and made a statement; the silver clutch worked nicely with it too. I loved Amrita Puri's look from head to toe! The retro hair and red lipstick look fabulous and her gown fit her impeccably!

Malaika Arora Khan wore a white and gold Monisha Jaisingh couture gown and looked lovely. She enhanced the gold details of the dress with some gold earrings and finished the look off with a dark gold clutch and nude Sergio Rossis. Prachi Desai pleasantly surprised me by donning this pale pink Neeta Lulla gown, it looked wonderful on her and I love her messy side-braid too.

Reception Style

A wedding reception took place last night in Mumbai, and tons of celebrities were seen.

Amrita Arora's look was a huge miss. The hair was
crazy, crazy, crazy. I'm not liking the swirly patterned saree much either.

Rani Mukherjee, went back to her Bengali roots and opte
d for a lehenga in white, with red and silver additions. I half liked this look, she certainly stood out and the design looks very pretty on her. However, I wish her make up would have been fresher, her face looks super tired and the hair looks limp.

Not many people would good in an ombré saree in the hues of deep red and orange, but Shilpa Shetty did just that... look good that is. I really like the unique colour combination of this saree and Shilpa looks very stylish wearing it.

Juhi Chawla's gold
lehenga was an instant favourite of mine, it's elegant and very appropriate considering the scale of the event.

Karisma Kapoor wore an ombré pale pink outfit with silver embellishments. Karisma always looks very put together and elegant and this look was no exception.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan went with pink too and I must say, I much prefer this simple look than those horrid
Manish Malhotra sarees/anarkalis that she has been sporting for a while.
