Black reigned supreme on the red carpet at this year's Golden Globe Awards.
Kate Hudson was splendid in a black Alexander McQueen gown with full sleeves and a gaping keyhole neckline. What really made the gown look spectacular was the starburst like gold embellishment around the neck and the detail at the waist.
And of course, the look was completed with her bright, cheery red carpet laugh.
The host of the evening, Tina Fey, opted for an ankle-grazing dress by L'Wren Scott, which was customised for Tina. I love how at ease she looks here, compared to when she wears a full fledged gown. I also loved the luscious, shiny hairstyle.
Tina's co-host Amy Poehler surprised us by shunning a dress all together.
She wore a sleek black pant suit by Stella McCartney. She stood out for all the right reasons in this crisp ensemble, which was made special by the stunning Chopard jewelry, Judith Leiber clutch and Charlotte Olympia heels.
Nicole Kidman gave us the second Alexander McQueen look of the evening.
She looked lovely in the black column gown with an embellished neckline from the Spring 2013 collection. I'm really warming to her new, shorter hair.
Rachel Weisz looked sweet in a black Louis Vuitton dress. The sheer polka-dot thing has been done to death but the dress looks classically feminine.
Rachel wore the dress with a sheer, dotted skirt with soft, wavy hair and a rose lip colour.
Kristen Wiig was smoking in a cut out gown from the Michael Kors Spring 2013 collection.
The dress showed off Kristen's amazing figure and her red hair popped against the jet black of the gown. Also, it's nice to see her in something other than a neutral colour.
Salma Hayek was clad in a Gucci Premiere dress. The strapless, bedazzled gown was nice but I really didn't see how the coral lip colour or her earrings went with the dress.
Sofia Vergara wore another fitted, mermaid hem dress. This one is by Michael Cinco. There was nothing bad about this look, but nothing to get excited over either.
