Taylor Swift in Elie Saab - 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Taylor Swift was the highlight at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

She wore a gown from the Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2012 collection.  The red gown had a lace bodice and a soft, flowing chiffon skirt.

Taylor sported straight hair, as she has for the past few months now and beared an uncanny resemblance to the model.  I love that Taylor has been walking away from sequins and sparkle, but I hope she hasn't completely lost her love for them.

Zooey Deschanel in Moschino - 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Zooey Deschanel stepped out in a Moschino Fall 2012 dress to the Billboard Music Awards.

She looked great in the pale blue shift dress with a white neckline and silver embellishments.  However, I hate how she wore tights with it.

I know Zooey is very fond of tights but they ruin the whole feel of the dress and look dowdy.  Her hair was worn in a cool, retro ponytail and she added colour via the almost orange lip colour.

Carrie Underwood in Oscar de la Renta - 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Carrie Underwood wore a fresh off the runway, Oscar de la Renta Fall 2012 ball gown to the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

She looked cute in the whimsical, dove grey and rose pink tulle dress with amazing architecture - it doesn't feel overwhelming at all.

Carrie wore it with wavy hair, silver peeptoes and carried a bejewelled clutch.

Alicia Keys in Azzedine Alia - 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Alicia Keys was clad in an Azzedine Alaia dress at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

The full sleeved gown had a micro-print in a dark colour; it was simple and elegant without looking boring.

Her hair and make-up also contributed in making the look interesting.

Julianne Hough in Kaufman Franco - 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Julianne Hough wore a Kaufman Franco dress to the Billboard Music Awards.

The strapless silver dress was embellished with sequins and was pretty, conceptually.  But the way the dress was constructed made it look like a fancy, wrapped towel.

The hair and make-up were fresh and suited her persona.

Miley Cyrus in Jean Paul Gaultier - 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Miley Cyrus wore a Jean Paul Gaultier jacket and dress to this year's Billboard Music Awards.

The white mini with a plunging neckline was topped with a double-breasted white jacket. I was expecting Miley to wear a flowing, sparkly gown or something similar so this was a surprise.

As she she isn't on Disney any more, this is acceptable but I'm not loving her hairstyle all that much.  She wore layered gold necklaces that are always seen on her.

Katy Perry in Blumarine - 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Katy Perry attended the 2012 Billboard Music Awards in a Blumarine Fall 2012 dress.

The shimmery pastel coloured dress looked season appropriate but clashed with Katy's hair and make-up.

I'm over her hair at this point so I have no comments.

Billboard Music Awards 2011

The Billboard Music Awards took place in Las Vegas last night. Here are some of the looks from the night!

Rihanna (blended into the background here) wore a white Max Azria suit, with pointy nude shoes. It's a bold look and Ri-Ri is rocking it like always!

Selena Gomez tried the grown up look in a dress with a cut-out and slit by Dolce & Gabbana. She kept the hair poker straight, adding colour via accessories and shoes. Is it me or does she almost look a Kardashian at first glance?


Taylor Swift wore a bedazzled strapless Elie Saab gown. I know this look is very Taylor but I like the minimal look going on, no frills, unecessary bling or big hair.

Nicole Kidman wore a very boring black column dress, the only interesting aspect of the look is the hairstyle.


Beyonce wore a simple black Lanvin sheath, saving all the drama for her performance of her new single,"Run the World".
