Zoe Saldana in Dolce & Gabbana - 2013 Independent Spirit Awards

Zoe Saldana brought the 'cute' factor to the pink rug at the  2013 Independent Spirit Awards.

The always on-trend actress wore one of this spring's most popular trends: stripes.  Her white and green, slightly loose-fitting Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 dress was perfect for her and the event.

Her look was completed with wavy, glossy tresses, smokey eyes and white Casadei pumps.  Green and white is one of my favourite combinations this season.

Nina Dobrev in Michael Kors - 2013 Independent Spirit Awards

Nina Dobrev is a firm fixture at Hollywood events these days, which is a good thing because she always brings something interesting to them.

At the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards, Nina chose a top and shorts look from the Michael Kors Spring 2013 collection.  I love how the shorts say casual, but the gold detail add a touch of glamour.

She went for gold all over, with bronzed make-up and those sexy Jimmy Choo strappy sandals.  Brooklyn Decker wore this look a couple months back in silver, whom do you like the look more on? My vote lies with Nina.

Rashida Jones in Stella McCartney - 2013 Independent Spirit Awards

Actress Rashida Jones added a bolt of colour to the pink carpet at the Indie Awards.

She wore a dark blue dress from the Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2013 collection with a bird feather print embroidery.  I like how the loose, boxy sleeves and drop waist suit the slightly casual, fun vibe at this event.

Never one to shy away from colour, Rashida added red via the lips and a sea green with the platform heels.

Kerry Washington in Giambattista Valli - 2013 Independent Spirit Awards

Kerry Washington was a delight on the red carpet once more, this time at the Indies.

She was fresh and beautiful in a green, mixed floral Giambattista Valli Fall 2012 Couture dress, modified slightly for her.  The two shades of green could have been sickly too look at but they look fabulous on Kerry.

A minor grip is regarding those shoes however.  An unexpected shade like pink would have added a wow factor.

Salma Hayek in Alexander McQueen - 2013 Independent Spirit Awards

The ageless wonder that is Salma Hayek, looked gorgeous in white at the Indies.

Salma wore a simple cream coloured frock from the Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2013 collection the Indies.  Not one to take a lot of risks with her style, Salma chose this somewhat conservative dress with a nipped in waist and flared skirt.

A blow-out and pink lips, as well as a McQueen clutch and  skull topped heels finished off her look.

Jennifer Lawrence in Lanvin - 2013 Independent Spirit Awards

Jennifer Lawrence rocked the red carpet in Lanvin at the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards.  I have never typed all those words together before.

She looked amazing in the sleek black, backless dress from the Lanvin Spring 2013 collection.  The construction of the dress is superb and I loved the perfect styling - from the updo, fresh make-up to the minimalist black Giuseppe Zanotti sandals.

After conquering the house of Dior, looks like Jennifer is ready to take on Lanvin and if this is how she wants to start, Emma Stone better be careful.

Brittany Snow in Naeem Khan - 2013 Independent Spirit Awards

Brittany Snow looked absolutely lovely at the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards.

She wore a sweet pink Naeem Khan 2013 cocktail dress with a portrait neckline, cap-sleeves and a flared hem.  While it isn't one of the more common gowns we seem from the designer, the dress is still just as beautiful.

I like how Brittany went with a neutral palette for her make-up, that and the nude heels lends the fresh touch to the look.

Amy Poehler in David Meister - 2013 Independent Spirit Awards

Amy Poehler attended the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards looking sharp.

She wore a tailored, navy blue silk crepe cocktail dress by David Meister with structured shoulders and an elegant feel.  Amy doesn't usually go big with her accessories but at this event, she added some colourful contrast with the red Edie Parker clutch and Jimmy Choo peep-toe heels.

I love this clean, sparkling look from Amy.

Olivia Wilde In Gucci - 2012 Independent Spirit Awards

Olivia Wilde took to this year's Independent Spirit Awards in a Gucci Pre-Fall 2012 gown.

The strapless, floral gown which was cinched in with a thing black waist band was breezy and low key - i.e. perfect for the Indies.

Olivia wore the dress with soft wavy tresses, neutral make-up and stacked golden bangles.

Zoe Saldana walked the purple carpet at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards looking mighty fine in a Balmain Spring 2012 mini.

The floral dress with three-quarter sleeves also features an open back.

Zoe wore her hair in waves and completed the look with nude, ankle-strap Brian Atwood pumps which actually elongate her legs.

Kristen Dunst attended the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards in basic separates.

The 'Melancholia' actress paired a Dolce & Gabbana mini that had a sweetheart neckline with a sharp white Chloé blazer.

The fun accessories really uplifted this look: I'm referring to the bright Chloé clutch & the daisy-print Dolce & Gabbana sandals.

Jessica Chastain, in an Armani Privé Spring 2012 Couture skirt-suit disappointed me.

At the beach-side event, where celebs have fun with fashion, Jessica wore this serious black skirt-suit with lime green piping.

Shailene Woodley captured the mood of the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards perfectly and wore a Christopher Kane Spring 2012 top with skinny pants.

It's cool and casual but appropriate for the red carpet thanks to the gold & pink embellished top.

A sleek high ponytail and lust-worth gold cap toe Louboutins completed her look.

It was an Antonio Berardi Pre-Fall 2012 dress for Elizabeth Olsen at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards.

The pale, silvery-grey dress with an embellished overlay was beautiful on the young actress and exuded elegance and sophistication.

Elizabeth kept things fairly simple, going for wavy locks, pink lips, a matching Edie Parker clutch & sparkly pumps.

Michelle Williams In Louis Vuitton - 2012 Independent Spirit Awards

Michelle Williams went for something different at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards.

The 'My Week with Marilyn' actress (who won the award for Best Actress) wore a short-suit from the Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 collection.

While I like that it's not just another dress, Michelle gave it a school-girl vibe which I'm not liking.  She wore the navy suit with an Olympia Le-Tan book clutch which increased that school-girl aura.

Pink lips and Fendi peep-toes were the finishing touches.

Rashida Jones In Oscar de la Renta - 2012 Independent Spirit Awards

Rashida Jones wore an Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2012 dress.

I love how the silhouette is so classic but the print is completely contemporary.

Rashida, much like Leighton Meester always wears interesting shoes and this time she wore these black sandals by Roger Vivier that had subtle blue satin accents.

A tousled hairstyle and bright pink lipstick completed her look.

Kate Beckinsale In Diane von Furstenberg - 2012 Independent Spirit Awards

Kate Beckinsale stepped out of her comfort zone at this year's Independent Spirit Awards by wearing a fabulous jumpsuit from the Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2012 collection (even though the original is in a baby pink hue).

I'm glad she wore it in this delicious fuschia shade though, as it looks stunning on her glowing skin and highlighted hair.

A tousled hairstyle, gold jewelery by Lorraine Schwartz and Christian Louboutin embellished gold peep-toes.

Anna Kendrick In McQ - 2012 Independent Spirit Awards

'Up in the Air' actress Anna Kendrick wore a McQ Pre-Fall 2012 dress for this year's Indies.

McQ was back with a bang, so to speak this year at London Fashion Week so it was nice to see a dress by the label on the red carpet.

Anna wears the strapless, paisley print dress with a leather waist detail really well.

And thank goodness she opted for some similarly edgy accessories in the form of the Kelly Wearstler clutch & Brian Atwood sandals.

Elizabeth Banks wore a Timo Weiland Spring 2012 dress to the Indies.

'The Hunger Games' actress was lovely in the water-colour digital print dress with a cutout on the the top and a pleated skirt with a slit.

A straight hairstyle, Kimberly McDonald jewelery and Christian Louboutin sandals completed her look.  I think I would have liked to see her hair up instead of the way she's worn it.

Lucy Liu attended the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards yesterday.

The actress wore a Roberto Cavalli Resort 2012 dress that had a black halter neck top and a tiered skirt with animal-print and a cotton layer.

I like this flirty, fresh dress on her and it's appropriate for the event.

She didn't bore us with black/nude pumps but rather went for the Giuseppe Zannoti sandals.
