Taylor Swift wore a Zuhair Murad gown to this year's Grammys.

I love this beaded, embellished golden dress with cap sleeves and a fishtail hem - so dramatic yet demure.

Taylor went for a very different hairstyle: the ballerina bun is very pretty and the amber earrings & lip colour are perfect!

Rihanna In Giorgio Armani - 2012 Grammys

Rihanna left little to the imagination in a custom Giorgio Armani dress at the Grammys.

The black dress plunged and dropped from the front & the back and had a leg split.

Ri-Ri wore it with delicious gold accessories but her blonde hair is just off-putting no?  Although I guess no one is really paying attention to it.

Katy Perry was a vision in an Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture gown at this year's Grammys.

The embellished ice-blue dress with three-quarter sleeves and a back drop was simply stunning on her.  Perfect make-up. Imperfect hair colour.

Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her toned body in a sleek Stella McCartney dress at the Grammys.

The black dress with cutouts covered by illusion panels and a gold waist belt was worn by her with a simple ponytail and light make-up.

The 'Underworld Awakening' actress looked pretty good in the cream coloured chiffon dress with a draped shoulder & black accents.


A ponytail and her favourite plain black pumps (Ferregamo) completed the look - I really wish her stylist would inform her that there are other kinds of shoes out there.

Carrie Underwood went for covered up dress by Gomez Gracia at the Grammys.

The white dress which was flecked with sequins had full sleeves and a covered neck but a surprise cutout in the back.  A messy updo and a black clutch completed her look.

Lady Gaga In Versace - 2012 Grammys

Lady Gaga did not make a dramatic red carpet entrance at this year's Grammys but her custom Versace dress was anything but subtle.

The black PVC bodice and peplum were laid over a dotted tulle skirt. The same fabric covered her neck and face.  She wore red lipstick and sweeped her blonde/black hair up.  And she carried a gold cane.

Alicia Keys skipped a gown in favour of a fitted cocktail dress at the Grammys.

The Alexandre Vauthier dress is sleek and fierce; a quiff updo, a gold neck collar and PVC heels completed the look.

My confusion as to why she was there aside, she looked pretty great in this structured white dress. Straight hair, pink lips, a sparkly clutch & chunky black heels were her accessories.

Julianne Hough wore a Kaufman Franco gown for the Grammys.

The strapless gown with a nude fabric under the glitzy overlay was nice on the 'Footloose' actress/singer.  She kept thing very simple with slightly wavy locks and neutral make-up.

Fergie wore a Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2012 Couture dress to the Grammys.

The see-through orange gown with cap sleeves and train was certainly risky but then it IS the Grammys.  Fergie completed the look with a sleek ponytail, gold hoops by Neil Lane and a glittering clutch.

Kelly Osbourne was first on the red carpet at the Grammys.  The E! News fashion host chose a Tony Ward dress for the event.

The sparkly, one-shoulder number is very figure-flattering on Kelly who is back to her lavender hair tone.

Giuseppe Zannoti heels & Pomellato jewelery finished her look.

Sophia Bush In Paule Ka - Belvedere Pre-Grammys Party

Sophia Bush wore a leather Paule Ka dress to a pre-Grammys bash in Hollywood.

Sophia dressed up the LBD with large tear-drop statement earrings, two cocktail rings, bracelets, an embellished clutch & caramel pumps.  I like how she really went for it with her make-up too.

Kelly Osbourne wore a lilac, feather mini by Tadashi Shoji, it's cute!

Natasha Bedingfield wore a floral blue gown - it's screams spring! I wish her posture was better though.

The Grammys - Warm Tones

Rihanna wore a Jean Paul Gaultier gown. It was everything Rihanna! Risky, and out there. I'm not a fan but at least she's kept the hair and makeup relatively simple.

Florence Welch wore one of my favourite designs from Givenchy's S/S 11 collection! I adore the swan print, the random sheer fabric and the colours!

Sara Bareilles wore a red gown by a designer called Ghadah Paris - I think she looks good, with the retro hair and chunky bangles.

Nicole Kidman looked so good! I like her floral Jean Paul Gaultier gown, the floral bits on the hem I would have lived without but overall, she looks lovely.

The Grammys - The Dark Trend

Dark colours were also very popular.

Jenna Ushkowitz' dress with gauzy straps stood out and I did like it - it's by Pamela Dennis.

Amber Riley's whole look was a disaster... the Ema Savahl dress had too much going on and the hair was not good.

Lea Michele wore a low cut dress by Pucci with a slit, it sure is a bold look but she looks like she's having fun and makes it work. I love the colourful bracelet she's wearing too.

Dianna Agron wore a bustier top and skirt (yeah... they're separates!) by Vivienne Westwood, she wore dramatic eye make up but it's okay because it's the Grammys. I do prefer her in light shades but obviously she can't always wear clothes in those colours because then I'll end up criticising her!

Eva Longoria & Bar Rafaeli wore monochrome outfits, Eva in an Ashi creation in her favourite silhoutte, the puffy skirt!

Bar wore a white blazer by Emporio Armani with black pants and matching heels, which I'm pretty sure anyone else would have looked like an idiot in but Bar's supermodel-ness (yep, just made that word up) makes it work.

A pregnant Selma Blair wore a two-tone Lanvin gown with a wide skirt, and looked good in it, she accessorised with silver bangles.

The Grammys - Metallics Trend

This past Sunday night saw the Grammy Awards take place in Hollywood and as always, there were some prominent trends to be seen. Metallics were very popular!

Selena Gomez wore a shimmery pale gold gown by J Mendel and looked very elegant in it! She was carrying a Judith Lieber clutch.

Jennifer Lopez' silver Pucci mini was a little too much... a few inches towards the hemline wouldn't have hurt. She wore spikey silver Louboutins.

Heidi Klum looked amazing in a Julien McDonald gown in gold with flowy sleeves - the design is very reminiscent of Taylor Swift's Met Gala gown which she wore in 2010 (it was a Ralph Lauren).

Kim Kardashian looked kind of tacky! The Kaufman Franco dress isn't bad, it just looks bad on her voluptuous body type.
