Julianne Hough in Jenny Packham - 2013 Emmy Awards

Julianne Hough attended the 2013 Emmys with her brother, Derek Hough whose show 'Dancing with the Stars' was nominated in the Outstanding Reality - Competition Program category.

Julianne was pretty as ever in a gorgeous sea foam Jenny Packham Spring 2014 dress. I'm always partial to an off-shoulder neckline so the dress pretty much had me at that. But besides the neckline, I really liked the delicate beading on the dress which has come to be a signature of the designer.

Her look was finished off with a tousled hairstyle, dark eyes and a matching Swarovski clutch.

Julianne Hough in Monique Lhuillier - 'The Lone Ranger' LA Premiere

Julianne Hough attended the Disneyland premiere of 'The Lone Ranger' last evening with her two neices.

She chose a printed Monique Lhuillier Spring 2013 ensemble consisting of a strapless, fitted top and ankle-length pants.

While I am not opposed to wearing print on print, I wish she'd opted for a white top and just gone with the printed pants.  Also, even though the strappy white sandals are a summer hit, a brighter colour would have popped against the monotone colours.

She completed her look with a Judith Leiber clutch and jewels by Liv Haley.

Julianne Hough in Topshop - 2013 Met Ball

It was a custom-made Topshop dress for Julianne Hough for the 2013 Met Ball.

The blonde actress wore her dark grey dress quite well, and I am glad it was not a full-fledged gown.

The edge was added to the tulle dress with her haistyle, and bold eyebrows.  She wore Giuseppe Zanotti heels and carried a Calvin Klein clutch.

Julianne Hough in Jenny Packham - 2013 Warner Bros. and InStyle Post-Golden Globes Party

Julianne Hough attended the 2013 Warner Bros. and InStyle Post-Golden Globes Party after attending the Globes with Ryan Seacrest.

The actress/dancer changed into a moody pink Jenny Packham Fall 2012 gown for the part, which looked more comfortable than her red carpet choice.

She kept the same hair and make-up.

2013 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala

The annual Art of Elysium Heaven Gala took place in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Camilla Belle was literally the belle of the ball in one of favourite dresses from the Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 collection (see my Pinterest here); the hair, the off-shoulder detail, jewels, it was perfection.

Rachel Bilson took me by surprise in a fun, hot pink, animal-print gown from the Valentino Resort 2013 collection. She really didn't need much to make this look pop so straight hair and minimum make-up were enough.

Anna Kendrick also looked colourful in an emerald green, silk cocktail dress by Christian Dior.  I loved her hairstyle but the black pumps felt so stodgy.

Amber Heard was elegant in a white Valentino Spring 2013 dress with black flowers and full sleeves.

Julianne Hough was pretty in a braided updo, bright lips and a Jenny Packham gown.

Krysten Ritter wore a light blue dress from the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2013 gown which, to be honest, washed her out.

Kirsten Dunst wore a Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 dress. I thought the checkered gown looked pretty good on her but looked uncomfortable.

Jaime King posed for the cameras in a bright red, full sleeved red gown.

Julianne Hough in Georges Hobeika - 2012 Emmy Awards

Julianne Hough played princess for the evening, yesterday at the Emmy Awards.

The dancer/actress was clad in a pale blue, crystal embellished gown by Georges Hobeika.  The dress featured a structured bodice and a sweeping, textured skirt.

What I loved most about this look was Julianne's hair and make-up - there wasn't a hint of cheesy there and for that I am impressed.

Julianne Hough in Valentino - 'Rock of Ages' London Premiere

Julianne Hough wore a Valentino dress to the UK premiere of 'Rock of Ages' in London on June 10th.

The black dress with a plunging neckline featured dotted white bubble sleeves.  I wasn't overly fond of those sleeves on the first go but the more I looked at the dress, the more I liked them. They stop it from being a serious LBD and inject a fun element.

A beautiful updo held together with a thin black headband let her eyes pop and she wore a pink lip colour too.  The shoes though. The shoes weren't all that.

Julianne Hough in Kaufman Franco - 'Rock of Ages' LA Premiere

Julianne Hough walked the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in LA for the premiere of her movie 'Rock of Ages'.

She was stunning, in a chartreuse, one-shoulder silk Kaufman Franco dress with a cut-out.  So far, I haven't really warmed up to Julianne's style, but she killed it in this dress.

In the hair and beauty department, she opted for a top-knot and a bright lip-colour and accessorised with Stephen Webster jewelery.

Julianne Hough in Kaufman Franco - 2012 CFDA Awards

Julianne Hough attended the 2012 CFDA Awards in a Kaufman Franco dress.

The deep red dress with cap sleeves and a plunging neckline looked very elegant on her.  I really prefer it when Julianne wears her hair up as it softens her features.

Julianne Hough in Sally LaPointe - 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Julianne Hough wore a black dress from the Sally LaPointe Fall 2012 dress to this year's MTV Movie Awards.

The 'Rock of Ages' star looked good in this full sleeved dress with a laser cut design, a cut out, peplum waist and mini skirt.

However, the styling was so-so, it consisted of poker-straight hair and simple Jimmy Choo peep-toes.  A bold lip colour or shoe were necessary.

Julianne Hough in Michael Kors - 2012 Guys Choice Awards

Julianne Hough went simple in a Michael Kors gown to Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards.

The black dress had a scoop neck and a thigh-high split.  The whole look reminded me of Jennifer Aniston's 2010 Golden Globes look, except it was more low-key.

I'm glad she kept her hair and make-up simple and fresh and added edge via the chunky Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and a House of Harlow clutch.

Julianne Hough in Kaufman Franco - 2012 Billboard Music Awards

Julianne Hough wore a Kaufman Franco dress to the Billboard Music Awards.

The strapless silver dress was embellished with sequins and was pretty, conceptually.  But the way the dress was constructed made it look like a fancy, wrapped towel.

The hair and make-up were fresh and suited her persona.

Julianne Hough in Carolina Herrera - 2012 Met Ball

Julianne Hough attended the Met Gala with boyfriend Ryan Seacrest last night.

The dancer/actress wore a fuschia Carolina Herrera gown which was fitted until it hit the knee, at which point it flared out in a skirt.

The colour is gorgeous on her, and for once her hair and make-up are very natural.  My only gripe is that black lining at her bust, the dress would have looked better without it.

Julianne Hough in DKNY - US Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Event

Julianne Hough wore a DKNY Fall 2012 dress to the US Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Event in Hollywood on Wednesday night.

The purple/maroon dress with sheer shoulders, sleeves and a flared, pleated hem looked smashing on Julianne.

Usually her hair is boring and she doesn't experiment with accessories but on this occasion, she wore a coral lip colour and wore her hair differently with Giuseppe Zannoti two-tone heels completing the look.

Julianne Hough In Kaufman Franco - 2012 Grammys

Julianne Hough wore a Kaufman Franco gown for the Grammys.

The strapless gown with a nude fabric under the glitzy overlay was nice on the 'Footloose' actress/singer.  She kept thing very simple with slightly wavy locks and neutral make-up.

More From The 2012 Art of Elysium Gala

Julianne Hough - She wore a one-shoulder sand coloured jersey gown with black accessories.

Alice Eve - This busy, one-shoulder YSL dress is just not pretty to look at, but also awkward it its length

Fashion Roundup

Salma Hayek was busy promoting her movie 'Puss In Boots' all over the place last week.

At the LA premiere, she chose a one-shoulder, textured frock by Bottega Veneta;  I love the shades of colours here as they match really well with Salma's chocolate brown locks!  A gilded clutch and black slingbacks completed her look.

An animal-print Alexander McQueen (Resort 2012) frock with a full skirt was her choice of dress for an NYC screening - I think she looks fab, her curvy figure is accentuated but it doesn't look tacky.  Tousled hair, a bright lip colour and caramel coloured pumps were the finishing touches.

Anne Hathaway wore a baby-blue printed Erdem sheath at the Hollywood Film Awards last week ; it's fresh and feminine.  But you know my complain right? The boring black peeptoes!  Her hair could've looked cuter if it had been put up in a bun too.

Julianne Hough, also an attendee at the event, picked a plunge neck Naeem Khan dress (Spring 2012) with a gold rose design.  As good as she looks, there's something very cheesy about her on the red carpet - maybe the DWTS image is still there...

Amber Heard wore a beautiful, aqua coloured, Roksanda Ilincic dress at the Hollywood Film Awards. The dress had me at the colour.

At the London premiere of 'The Rum Diary', Amber took a colour break and went for an all black Jean Paul Gaultier gown with a bejewelled waist, adding interest via the fuschia lipstick.

Nikki Reed joined the promotion bandwagon for 'Breaking Dawn Part 1'.  The newly-wed actress donned a bright shift, wearing it with interesting suede shoes or 'shooties' (shoe-booties)... get it?

Rebecca Hall walked the red carpet at the London Film Festival in a Marios Schwab frock - I love the sport-chic feel of it and those heels are fab (if not too matchy-matchy, but who needs boring ol' black pumps anyway?).

Eva Longoria gave two sleek looks with neutral heels this past week:

First, in a midnight blue Victoria Beckham (Fall 2010) dress with a draped neck and black belt.

For a TV appearance, Eva opted for a padded shouldered white Antonio Berardi sheath with an interesting neck.

Thandie Newton was one of my favourites this week, in a metallic Giles (Spring 2012) dress with a printed bodice and red belt - she paired the dress with aqua Nicholas Kirkwoods which was unexpected and refreshing!

Jennifer Lopez also surprised me by wearing a girly silhouette in the form of this sky blue Lisa Ho dress, which she wore with a tight top knot and nude peeptoes.
I wish she'd gone for a softer hairstyle though, the top knot adds a harshness to her face.

American actress/producer, Leelee Sobieski was at the Fashion Group International’s 28th annual Night of Star event, wearing a Jill Sander Fall 2012 outfit.  I would've seen this one on Tilda Swinton but Leelee carries it off pretty well, with a sleek bun and pink lipstick.

Olivia Wilde looked smashing, at a Glamour event, wearing a panelled J Mendel Resort 2012 dress.  Bright pink pumps and gold earrings added interest to her look.

At the TeenNick Halo Awards, Victoria Justice wore a pink Tadashi Shoji number with Giuseppe Zannoti ankle-strap heels.  I find this dress sickly sweet and hate the colour, even the hair and make-up are falling flat.

Emerging actress (and one-to-watch-out-on-the-red-carpet star) Felicity Jones wore a rose-gold ChloĆ© dress at an LA do, with rich purple heels.  A messy fishtail braid and smoky eyes completed her fabulous look.

Lauren Conrad also had two distinct looks this week:

I like the 20's hairstyle she's sporting with the palette adorned BCBG Max Azria mini - retro eyes and pink lips added interest to her look but I wish she'd chosen a different clutch, the oversize one feels out of place.

Her second look consisted of a simple fall print dress which she wore with simple hair and neutral pumps; I would have gone for some rich hued pumps though.

Julianne Hough in Rachel Zoe

'Footloose' star, Julianne Hough wore a tuxedo inspired dress from the Fall 2011 Rachel Zoe Collection last night for an event.

Not a big fan of this piece - maybe a sleeveless tuxedo dress would have worked better,

Julianne didn't accessorise it right either - this dress required some quirkiness.  I would love to see what Diane Kruger would do with this dress!

In Tibi

Spotted: Julianne Hough, at the premiere of her new movie, 'Footloose' in LA.

Tibi was the label of choice for her, and Julianne doesn't usually impress me on the red carpet but I'm loving this look.

She chose an organza top & shorts look from the Fall 2011 collection and I'm glad she kept everything else low-key.

Nude pointy heels, and gold earrings were her finishing touches, but I wish she'd parted her hair differently, doesn't it seem too 80's?
