Malin Akerman in Victor Costa - 2013 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Malin Akerman pulled out all stops at the 2013 Creative Arts Emmys.

She wore a vintage Victor Costa LBD with ruffles down the back and sides, including a peplum waist. This look had every bit of potential to be "simply too much" but I do love how she kept her hair sleek in an updo, and make-up subtle, with just eyeliner and a hint of berry gloss.

Sandals by Louboutin and a clutch finished off her look.

Malin Akerman in J. Mendel - 2013 ESPY Awards

Malin Akerman showed off her gorgeous post baby body and glow at this year's ESPY Awards.

She donned a refreshing blue J. Mendel Fall 2013 dress to the event, which had a low neckline and a flared skirt, with black lining.

Malin finished her look with a Hunting Season clutch, jewelry by Loree Rodkin and Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

Malin Akerman in Alberta Ferretti - 2013 Warner Bros. and InStyle Post-Golden Globes Party

Malin Akerman attended the 2013 Warner Bros. and InStyle Post-Golden Globes Party on Sunday evening.

The pregnant actress looked pretty in an Alberta Ferretti Spring 2013 dress.  I loved the beautiful shades of blue throughout this collection.

Malin completed the look with a metallic clutch and wavy hair.

Malin Akerman in Cushnie et Ochs - 2012 InStyle Summer Soiree

Malin Akerman went red for the annual InStyle Summer Soiree.

The Swedish beauty wore a halter neck dress with a centre leg split from the Cushnie et Ochs Resort 2013 collection.

What drew me to this dress was the gorgeous colour and it's simplicity.  Sure, a ponytail would have looked better but I liked that Malin wore those nude and black sandals instead of the perennial favourite pump.

Malin Akerman in Philosophy - 'Rock of Ages' Stockholm Premiere

Malin Akerman took to her homeland of Sweden for the promotion of her new movie 'Rock of Ages'.

She looked gorgeous at the premiere of the movie in Stockholm in a Philosphy Fall 2012 dress.  The metallic, silver dress with embellishments had a futuristic feel yet had a soft sheen to it.

Malin wore it with a messy side braid and bright red lips, and matched her shoes to her dress (she's wearing Jimmy Choo 'Lance' heels).

Malin Akerman in Marchesa - 'Rock of Ages' London Premiere

Malin Akerman is having a good week.  After a bold moment on the red carpet at the LA premiere of 'Rock of Ages', she opted for softer look at the movie's London premiere.

Malin wore a full sleeved, illusion Marchesa dress with embellishments.  The dress is beautiful, as all Marchesa dresses are but her styling took the dress to another level.

A low ponytail with a centre parting and red lips looked chic, as did the clutch and gold Jimmy Choo 'Loila' sandals.

Malin Akerman in Reem Acra - 'Rock of Ages' LA Premiere

For the premiere of 'Rock of Ages' in Hollywood, Malin Akerman wore a Reem Acra Fall 2012 dress.

The risky dress was slightly modified from the original with the elimination of the high neck.  It looks like Malin also wanted a more literal 'thigh-high' slit.

For once, I'm not going to complain about something so flashy because she wore the dress extremely well, without looking tacky.

Side-swept, tumbling locks, pink lips and black accessories completed her look.

Malin Akerman in Emporio Armani - 2012 Guys Choice Awards

Malin Akerman was also in an LBD at the Guys Choice Awards this year.

The Emporio Armani dress featured a silk bodice and a fitted skirt.  A lot of the times, Malin loses marks because of her average styling but on this occasion I loved the tousled, big hair, smokey eyes and gorgeous Isabel Marant 'Rea' heels. Love those shoes.

Coach Event to Benefit the Children's Defense Fund

Coach hosted the Children's Defense Fund in LA last Wednesday.

Kristen Bell looked cute in a printed blue dress by A.L.C which she toughened up with a leather jacket.  Instead of her trademark wavy style, she wore her hair in a braided updo.

Malin Akerman wore a textured LBD with sheer fabric, leather and velvet too.  It seems like an awkward match but she looked good.  A top knot and colourful Giuseppe Zanotti sandals completed her look.

Nikki Reed showed off her tan in a grey shift dress with a collar.  Her dress was brightened up with a turquoise Coach bag and white pumps.

Malin Akerman in J. Mendel - World Childhood Foundation USA Gala Dinner

Malin Akerman attended the World Childhood Foundation USA Gala Dinner in NYC.

She looked lovely, in a violet J. Mendel gown with an embellished neck and waist.  This colour is fast becoming a favourite of mine.

Malin sported long hair with this look, I think a bun would have been chic and handy in showing off the neckline.

Malin Akerman in Diane Von Furstenberg - 'The Conversation' Launch

Malin Akerman attended the launch of 'The Conversation' series in NYC yesterday.

She wore a gold Diane von Furstenberg dress that ideally should have worked but something about it makes it look unflattering on Malin.

Also, her shoes felt bland.

Malin Akerman in Halston - Restoration Hardware Spring 2012 Collection Launch

Malin Akerman wore a Halston dress to the launch of a hardware store called Restoration Hardware in LA.

In theory, this off-shoulder red dress should work but it falls totally flat on Malin because of a lack of bra and lame styling.

Malin Akerman in Lacoste - Lacoste Celebrates the Launch of Women's SS12 Collection

Malin Akerman attended the launch of Lacoste's SS12 collection in West Hollywood on Wednesday.

The blonde actress wore a Lacoste Spring 2012 dress that had a very classic American colour scheme even though the design was hardly classic.

Malin paired the cool dress with nude Brian Atwood 'Maniac' pumps; I wish she'd worn some cool sandals to offset the theme of the dress.  A wavy hairdo, and blue winged eye shadow completed her look.

Malin Akerman In J. Mendel - Vanity Fair & Juicy Couture 'Vanities' Event

Malin Akerman wore a J. Mendel Spring 2012 dress to the Vanity Fair & Juicy Couture 'Vanities' Event in Hollywood.

The 'Wanderlust' actress looked pretty good in this sombre, black & white dress. It was hardly dull though - the texture and structure provide visual interest.

Malin wore her hair in side-swept waves, and added colour via her light pink lipstick; black sandals completed the  look. No black pumps!

Malin Akerman In Cushnie et Ochs - 2012 Grammys

Malin Akerman wore a Cushnie et Ochs cocktail dress to the Grammys.

My confusion as to why she was there aside, she looked pretty great in this structured white dress. Straight hair, pink lips, a sparkly clutch & chunky black heels were her accessories.

Malin Akerman In Vintage - Tesla's Model X Party

Malin Akerman attended the launch party of Tesla motors' Model X car in LA yesterday.

The actress wore a vintage black jumpsuit, topping it with a fur vest by Thomas Wylde.  She completed the look with a gold Michael Kors belt, a studded H&M clutch and black suede pumps (hate).  I wish she'd left out the gold belt and pumps.

Fashion Roundup

Kirsten Dunst went back to looking cute in a blue, ditsy floral print summer dress (Louis Vuitton), worn with gold peeptoe sandals at the label's event in NYC. It's perfect for a summery evening out and Kirsten looked good.

Malin Akerman attended a Tommy Hilfiger do in LA in a low cut white jersey dress with tan accessories in the form of the thin belt and lace heels. I think that the dress would have looked better had it had a more modest neckline.

Emma Watson looked great once more in a chartreuse coloured Marchesa dress, at the MTV Awards after-party. She added bright lipstick and translucent pumps to complete the look.

Emma Roberts too looked lovely in green, in a kelly green shade. She went for colour blocking, pairing the Amanda Uprichard mini with royal blue suede heels.

"Sex and the City" stars, Kristin Davis & Sarah Jessica Parker both wore nude/blush shades this week.

Kristin went for a soft blush pink Paul Ka satin frock, finishing the look off with matching heels.

SJP went for a more simpler look in her vintage inspired L'Wren Scott dress which she wore with lots of eyeliner, a simple hairstyle and open-toe Louboutins.

Nicole Kidman invited disaster when she stepped out at the CMT Music Awards in a velvet Proenza Schouler dress, adding to the travesty with those caged Pierre Hardy heels. The hairstyle, dress, shoes, nothing work.

Charlize Theron was seen at a Christian Dior party (for the launch of a watch, for which she is spokesperson), dressed in clothes from the label. She wore a feathered white dress with a black blazer - it's a stylish look but the blazer isn't very weather appropriate.

Premieres Galore

This past week saw three premieres! Here are some of the sartorial choices of the stars.

Colour was the key player at the "Sucker Punch" premiere in LA.

Abbie Cornish looked lovely in a cobalt blue full length gown with matching earrings, and I'm glad she has reverted back to blonde!

*Up
date - Abbie is wearing an Amanda Wakeley gown

Malin Akerman looked fierce in a signature minimalistic red silk gown, enhanced by a light belt.

Vanessa Hudgens went a different route by choosing this printed shimmery Jenny Packham that had a cutout in the back, I like the way she has done her hair here.

Katie Holmes went for an androgynous look in Stella McCartney at the premiere of "The Decision"; the baggy jacket doesn't work. She should have gone for a more structured and fitted suit.

Anne Hathaway did the pretty thing in a white lace Dolce & Gabbana dress at the "Rio" premiere in Brazil. It's a super feminine look and works perfectly for the hot Brazilian weather. It's just refreshing to see her in a mini, after all those elaborate red carpet gowns.

Fashion Roundup

I'm really liking Kim K's casual/semi-casual style of late. She knows what looks good on her and her looks are always so well co-ordinated in terms of accessories! She wore this black & white ensemble while dining out in LA. The waist-cinching belt matches her clutch & nude Louboutins! Everything lies in the detail.

Kristen Bell talked at the Alzheimer's Association benefit event wearing a bedazzled sheath by Sea with rosey metallic Brian Atwoods. It's perhaps a little too glitzy for a charity event but there's no denying that she looks great.

Nicky Hilton was at a brand's do wearing a very Nicole Richie-esque ensemble! The kimono top, long gold necklace, high heels... no complains though. Nicky's make up is fresh and clean and that makes this look work.

Alexa Chung, at a
GQ magazine event looked pretty great in burgundy jeans, a polka-dot top, a long blazer and the Chanel quilted purse.

At the John Varvatos Stuart House event in LA, Jayma Mays looked cute in a day look. She paired a white v-neck, sleeveless tank with a tan calf-length skirt. The straw bag is a nice relaxed touch and the black bow matches perfectly with her black flats!

Zoe Saldana too attended the event in a casual jeans look. The leather jacket is soft-looking and those leopard print heels add some pizzazz.

Jessica Alba went all edgy at an event in head-to-toe Proenza Schouler. It's all crazy but it's Proenza!

Malin Akerman was at a Rag & Bone opening wearing a white dress by the brand with edgy heels - it's minimal yet edgy.

Fashion Roundup

Emmy Rossum attended a pre-Oscar party in a blue patterned halter dress by Dior, I like how the shoes and the pattern on the dress compliment one another.

Jenna Dewan was at a Vanity Fair party in a black strapless dress that she wore with bold accessories and animal-print heels.

Amy Adams looked pretty darn fabulous at two parties, first in a sand coloured Roland Mouret sheath and then in a navy Stella McCartney dress. Amy doesn't exactly take risks, fashion-wise but she always knows what looks good on her and sticks to it.

Malin Akerman was at the Vanity Fair party in a fresh boatneck dress which she wore with a thin yellow belt and opaque tights.

Kirsten Dunst wore a grey, pleated lame dress with tights, the look itself isn't so bad but the eyes I have an issue with - raccoon eyes much?

Jessica Szohr attended a fashion event wearing a dreadful shirt! That print is so 90's.

Isabel Lucas too was at the Vanity Fair event in a rose pink dress which she wore with black flats - it's quite classic and works.

Amber Heard was at the premiere of her movie, "Drive Angry" in a sequined strapless dress by Donna Karan - it looks beautiful on her and I like how she balanced the 'sexiness' of the dress with a longer hemline.

Hilary Duff turned up at the Global Action Awards in a strapless printed gown - I don't quite know what to make of this look as it doesn't really work at all, the print isn't attractive and the bird-feather earrings don't work either.

Milla Jovovich worked a red Temperely London dress with a gold choker and stark black heels - nice!

Lauren Conrad was at the launch of her Paper Crown line in a gorgeous tan semi-casual look - I like every single thing about it!

Diane Kruger was on the red carpet once again in Berlin in a Grecian-inspired Vionnet gown, it's lovely but doesn't exactly fit her in the bust, a better fit was in order. She wore a black and gold dress next, and I have to say, it's not good. It's extremely ill fitting!
