Lizzy Caplan in Halston Heritage - 'Bachelorette' NYC Premiere

Lizzy Caplan was clad in blue at the premiere of 'Bachelorette' in New York City.

The actress' striking cobalt blue leather Halston Heritage dress featured full sleeves and a short hemline.

We haven't seen Lizzy's style as of yet as she's returned to the big screen after a long time (her last big movie was 'Mean Girls') but here's hoping we get to see good things.

She completed her look quite simply with an updo, smokey eyes and platform Stella McCartney pumps.

Sophia Bush in Halston - 2012 Genesis Awards

Sophia Bush wore a Halston Heritage to the 26th Annual Genesis Awards that recognise individuals in entertainment media who have raised awareness regarding animal welfare.

I like this hot pink dress with a floral print and a high-low hemline but I can't say the same about her styling.

The purposely messy hair looks out of place, and I'm not crazy about the black belt, pink lips, clutch and shoes.

Dakota Fanning in Halston - 2012 GLAAD Media Awards

Dakota Fanning wore a vintage Halston dress to the GLAAD Media Awards in NYC last night.

She looked good in this halter ivory gown with golden embroidery and a tulip hem.

Also, she didn't wear pumps!  Dakota carried gold box clutch by Ferregamo and slinky Manolo Blahnik gold sandals.

Malin Akerman in Halston - Restoration Hardware Spring 2012 Collection Launch

Malin Akerman wore a Halston dress to the launch of a hardware store called Restoration Hardware in LA.

In theory, this off-shoulder red dress should work but it falls totally flat on Malin because of a lack of bra and lame styling.

Sonam Kapoor In Halston - Club Liv Opening

Sonam Kapoor wore a Halston maxi dress for a club opening in Mumbai last night.

Sonam loves Halston and she wears the pink, pleated, one-shoulder dress quite well;  the gold accessories also work. 

However, this is hardly what one would wear to a club opening.  It's a look that's better suited to a resort event or a summer party.

I would have loved to see her in this fab DKNY Resort 2012 dress.  It fits her style bill perfectly:  classy but fun and who can say no to sequins?

Nicole Richie In Halston

Nicole Richie stepped out in a Halston dress, for a House of Harlow event held in LA.

The silver sequined dress with overlarge sleeves and red patches looked perfectly edgy yet festive and I love the way Nicole styled it - with a simple hairstyle, cool necklaces, a red box clutch & marble-print heels.

Fashion Roundup

It has been a slow week, not many great outfits. Here's a summary of some of the looks that worked and others that didn't quite do it.

Jennifer Lopez, at the final of the American Idol wore a sparkly, nude Michael Kors jumpsuit with heels from the label. As far as most of her previous attempts at jumpsuits go, this was an improvement. However, it's still unsightly below the waist and makes her leg look stumpy.

Halle Berry showed off her tummy in an asymmetrical jersey Halston dress. We know, Halle, you have an amazing body but the giant cutout takes it a little too far.


Katie Holmes wore her own label, Holmes & Yang at an event. The fuschia shade is gorgeous and I like the pussy bow blouse but the maxi skirt is ill fitting, instead of separates, this piece would have looked better as a dress.

Kate Winslet looked mighty elegant in NYC, in a monochromatic Narciso Rodriguez gown. She balanced the geometric pattern of the dress with a soft hair do, drop earrings and red lipstick.

At the Kung Fu Panda 2 LA premiere, Angelina wore a black Michael Kors dress. It's trademark Angelina in that it's a safe silhouette and black, I'm glad she wore her hair up though, it lends a youthful touch to the look.

Lucy Liu was also present at the premiere, she chose a flirty white Marchesa dress, with nude peeptoes.

Jessica Biel, at a Revlon event, wore a teal coloured suit. It's not so much the colour that I hate, nor the overall suit - there's just too much teal though, she should have broken it up somewhere, maybe a different coloured shirt, or jacket?

Carrie Underwood, also at the American Idol red carpet, wore a lovely, beaded Lorena Sarbu tunic with embellished nude heels. The tunic is beautiful, and those heels make her legs look miles long!

Fashion Roundup

Emma Watson was seen in Paris, wearing a layered monochromatic Azzaro Frock with black pumps - cute!

Ashley Greene looked lovely at the premiere of "Skateland" in an asymmetrical, light pink Fendi dress which she wore with loose, tousled locks and carried a gold tweed clutch. The bright pink nail polish is a nice touch.


Sarah Jessica Parker was seen in NYC, at the Robin Hood Gala with big hair! I think she thought to add drama to the simple indigo Halston gown by way of the hairstyle but I'm not loving the result.

Gwyneth Paltrow thought of nabbing attention at the National Movie Awards held in London in this black plunge neck Roksanda Illicinic number. It's just a trying-too-hard-to-look-cool look, the dead-looking hair doesn't help matters.

Gisele Bundchen Brady was also at the Robin Hood Gala in NYC in a lace and tweed Emanuel Ungaro dress. She wore her hair in a high bun and added colour through the lipstick, she is wearing Louboutin stilettos.

At another event, she was spotted in a form-fitting Victoria Beckham sheath. Let's be honest, she's the world's top supermodel, she could wear a sack and look good. (Not jealous at all...)

Rachel Bilson, fresh from her trip to France for the Chanel show, was seen at the designer, Derek Lam's store opening in a floral maxi from the designer, which she wore with a statement necklace and white clutch.

Freida Pinto was in London, at the opening of the Nicholas Kirkwood flagship store. She wore a colourful Peter Pilotti sheath with bright orange peeptoes by Nicholas Kirkwood. I like this dress, the sashes of white fabric balance the brightness.

Pretty Premieres

Spotted: Sarah Jessica Parker and Amanda Seyfried (at separate events).

SJP was seen at the opening of a Broadway play, she wore a sparkly black Halston Heritage dress (she's the creative director for the label) and worked it! I love the all black look on her - the dress is just sparkly enough, without being covered in any actual sparkles or pailletes.

Amanda Seyfried looked fabulous on the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie, "Red Riding Hood". Dressed in Lanvin from head to toe, Amanda owned the look! I love the rich purple of the dress and the nude shoes are a touch different from the usual ones we see. The chunky Tom Binns necklace is a nice touch too.
