Sarah Jessica Parker in Prabal Gurung & Theyskens' Theory - 2013 New York City Ballet Fall Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker had a princess moment as she arrived at the 2013 New York City Ballet Fall Gala.

She wore a pink ballgown which was a collaboration between Prabal Gurung (who designed the top and bustier) and Olivier Theyskens (who made the skirt).

The two different shades of pink might seem strange at first glance but I liked the interest they created.  Between the sleek ponytail and diamond earrings, and the unique construction of this dress, SJP nailed this modern princess look.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Zac Posen - Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, held at the Edison Ballroom in New York City on Friday evening.

She was event appropriate, and lovely, in a floral print tea dress with flutter sleeves from the Zac Posen Spring 2013 collection.

I am a huge Zac Posen fan - his craftsmanship is inimitable and this dress is just one of the many elegant dress that are always a huge part of his collections.

SJP finished off her look with straight hair, light pink lips; accessories included Roger Vivier satin heels and Fred Leighton jewels.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Giles - 2013 Met Ball

SJP is all about drama at the Met Ball.

This year, she wore a Giles Fall 2013 ballgown with a vivid print.  But she didn't stop at the print, for she also added a mohican style fascinator.

Let's be real, if anyone can carry this look off, it's SJP. No one else even comes close.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Elie Saab - 2013 BAFTAs

I was surprised to find SJP on the red carpet at the BAFTAs.

But she brought her own unique sartorial sense to the rainy evening in an Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2013 jumpsuit.  Her odd pose in the photo aside, she looked polished and chic in the black one-piece, worn sans the gold belt.

Instead, she wore it with a statement necklace and sleek, straight locks. She looked good but a touch of colour wouldn't have gone amiss.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Calvin Klein - 2012 Elle Women in Hollywood

SJP wore Calvin Klein.

She respected the clean lines of this Spring 2013 dress by going almost accessory-less.  Slicked back hair, and lace covered Manolo Blahnik pumps were all she wore with it.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino - 2012 NYC Ballet Fall Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker graced the red carpet at this year's Ballet Fall Gala.

The 'Sex and the City' icon wore a look straight from the runway of the Valentino Fall 2012 Couture show.

Her soft, dove grey dress with a navy blue floral design was worn with a gold, waist-cinching belt and the white long cape with a sunny yellow design.

This was a hard look to pull off, especially with the statement necklace and cape but there's one person who can do that, it is SJP.

The actress wore a vivid checker print, red and white dress from the Oscar de la Renta Resort 2013 collection.

In her usual style, SJP wore the dress with completely different accessories.  Here she wore coffee coloured, dotted Manolo Blahnik pumps and a spike cuff by Fred Leighton.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Oscar de la Renta - Gordon Parks Centennial Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker wore an Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2012 dress to the Gordon Parks Centennial Gala in New York City.

Her sleeveless purple dress featured darker sequins through out.  SJP wore it with a dark blue blazer though, which was a downer, as were those lilac pumps.

Sarah Jessica Parker in L'Wren Scott - Forget Me Not Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Forget Me Not Gala to support the Alzheimer's Association on Monday in New York City.

She wore a navy L'Wren Scott sheath, topping it with a matching velvet YSL jacket.  Wavy tresses and black Manolo Blahniks completed her look.

Considering the mood of the event, this dark look was suitable.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino - 2012 Met Ball

SJP was clad in head-to-toe Valentino at this year's Met Ball.

She looked very pretty in the Spring 2012 Couture dress and posed with the Mr. Garavani himself.

The full-sleeved, pink floral print gown could have done without the gold cuffs on both wrists but then that's the signature, unique SJP touch.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Oscar de la Renta - Carnegie Hall Medal Of Excellence Gala Honoring Bill Cunningham

Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Carnegie Hall Medal Of Excellence Gala that honoured original street-style photographer and legend, Bill Cunningham.

SJP made a bit of a faux-pas at this event by adding a white cardigan to a taffeta ballgown by Oscar de la Renta.

The gown really should have been worn on its own, or with a fur bolero to add that evening wear touch, but a white casual cardigan? No, no no.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Rochas & Oscar de la Renta - Gala Benefit For Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital

SJP attended the gala benefit for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago on Friday.

She wore a Rochas Spring 2012 dress with a v-neck that was modified to make it into a full-fledged gown.  She looked very elegant wearing it.

Signature wavy hair, a diamond necklace and a tweed Oscar de la Renta coat were the finishing touches.

Kristen Stewart looked gorgeous in a leopard print mini dress that showed off her legs; she too opted for the cap-toe pumps but in white.

Sarah Jessica Parker has truly welcomed the spring weather for she wore a flowing white dress with a subtle floral print from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2002 collection.  A laid-back hairstyle accompanied her look.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Louis Vuitton - Louis Vuitton Show at Paris Fashion Week

Sarah Jessica Parker demanded attention at today's Louis Vuitton Fall showing in Paris.

She wore this icy blue lace bodice dress from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2005 collection.  She also wore white gloves, and white pumps. Also, her hair was huge.

This might not be everyone's cup of tea. However, I admire her for just walking into this show with such a strong look - this is just signature SJP.

Fashion Roundup

Olivia Palermo attended a few events in NYC in an array of stylish outfits.

At a movie screening, she wore a white sheer blouse with a furry vest, skinny pants and feathered Louboutin boots. A cool panther pendant, gold bangles and a Lulu Guinness clutch completed her look.

Olivia arrived at the Carlo Pazolini party in cropped, metallic pants, a grey sweater & a leather sleeved jacket.  Accessories included a statement necklace, a bright yellow clutch and satin blue Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Beyonce stepped out for another Jay Z concert, in a sequined Monique Lhuillier dress which she wore with a furry Chanel clutch and ankle-strap heels.

Solange Knowles  attended the Carlo Pazolini store opening in NYC.  Loving her take on amping up neutral basics.

Camila Alves took in the Leila Shams show at NYFW in a cool black & neon mini by the designer, topping it with a leather jacket.  Wavy tresses, a large clutch and open-toe boots completed her look.

Paula Patton wore a sky blue Versus dress with cutout sleeves and an architectural skirt.  Something about the way the top sits on this dress really irks me, and I'm not a fan of it on Paula.

Sarah Jessica Parker attended a book launch in NYC in a grey shift dress which she wore with sheer polka-dot tights, a black blazer and a Chanel bag.  It's understated but so chic.

Angelina Jolie met with the German foreign minister in a white dress, worn with a matching belted coat.  Diamond earrings & nude peep-toes completed her elegant look.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Tory Burch - 'Smash' Premiere

SJP wore a Tory Burch Spring 2012 dress to the premiere of the new musical television show called 'Smash'.

The striped and sequined shift dress was typically accessorised quite a bit by her.  I don't usually mind her styling but there's way too much happening here.

The neck piece, odd tan belt, weird colourless pumps and the bag could have been substituted with a simple clutch & pumps.

The Best-Dressed of 2011

2011 has gone quicker than I thought it would and it's time to draw up my second annual 'Best-dressed' list! Happy holidays to one and all! xo

 10. Australian beauty Miranda Kerr takes the tenth spot in this list.

I know she's a supermodel and has the ability to wear anything and still look fantastic, however, I'm more a fan of her street style; her casual day looks range from basic neutrals to floral maxis and she looks effortlessly chic in everything (while carrying her baby in tow sometimes).
Oh, and she's pretty stunning in formal togs too.

9. Jessica Alba gave us all a master class in maternity style this year.

Maxi dresses are a fail-safe choice for any mother-to-be but Jess made sure to keep every look interesting by way of the dress, accessories, and hair.
My personal favourites are the floral, off-shoulder Dolce & Gabbana dress & teal coloured, swallow-print Issa maxi.

8. Leighton Meester is without a doubt, the shoe queen of the red carpet.

In 2011 she wowed me in all her ensembles and from the girly Vera Wang dress to the edgy Michael Kors gown, Leighton always kept things fun and fashionable.
And you'll (almost) never catch this girl in a pair of boring black pumps.

7.  Emma Watson takes spot number 7, for her enchanting, feminine sense of style.

Not one to be seen in skin-tight or short dresses, Emma sticks to her girly silhouettes and designs.  She went for that famous pixie hairstyle earlier this year and this only added to her charm.
Personal favourites are the Oscar de la Renta gown & the Jason Wu ensemble.

6. Sarah Jessica Parker made many red carpet appearances in 2011, largely because she starred in a movie ('I Don't Know How She Does It').

Her summer wardrobe also included a lot of clothes by one of my favourite designers - Prabal Gurung and she single-handedly revived the white pump trend.
SJP may overdo the crazy accessories at times, but you can't accuse her of looking boring.

5. I honestly don't know how I forgot to put Freida Pinto in my best-dressed last year because ever since the Indian actress starred in 'Slumdog Millionaire', she has been giving us stellar looks.

This year, Freida starred in a lot of movies, which was great for us as we saw a variety of fantastic looks from her.  Personal favourites are the Ralph Lauren jumpsuit & the Antonio Berardi dress.

4. Olivia Palermo is the only true blue fashionista on this list as she's not an actress.

The NYC based socialite and designer is known for her superb accessorising skills and the ability to put together stylish outfits from quirky separates.  Her signature items include her Stuart Weitzman sandals and a fringed clutch.

 3. Diane Kruger has been the most consistent this year.

The German actress kept firm hold of her fashion icon status by wearing her favourites like Chanel and Jason Wu but also ventured out in a high-fashion, neon Alessandra Rich gown (a favourite of mine).

2. Zoe Saldana takes the second spot on this list.  It's not hard to see why as Zoe has a really fun, playful view of fashion.

She's always ahead of the pack, wearing pieces fresh off the runway and I have to say, she's one of those rare ladies in Hollywood who can carry off an ankle-strap without making her legs look stumpy.

  1. Leading the charge is Emma Stone.  This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

The girl starred in three big movies ('Friends with Benefits', 'Crazy, Stupid, Love.' & 'The Help') and wore designs from virtually every label in the world.
I love how Emma always looks confident & comfortable in whatever she's wearing - she wears the dress, not the other way around.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Vintage - 'New Year's Eve' NYC Premiere

Sarah Jessica Parker stepped out in florals at the NYC premiere of her movie, 'New Year's Eve'.

The vintage Pauline Trigere dress with a delicate print looks lovely on her - she wore it with gorgeous layered necklaces and rosy, satin Manolo Blahnik heels (who else?).

Also, I'm glad she's back to her signature, blonde wavy hairstyle.
