Models at the 2014 CFDA Awards

The 2014 CFDA Awards took place last night.  So obviously, there were models present.

Hilary Rhoda was my favourite.  She looked exquisite in her peach J. Mendel Spring 2014 gown, worn with wavy hair and striking dark lips.

Jessica Stam looked statuesque in a white jumpsuit with a keyhole neckline.

Chanel Iman looked lovely in her black lace Monique Lhuillier gown with embellishments.

2014 Golden Globes - Colour

Despite the black and white dresses outnumbering brightly coloured ones, these few stood out thanks to the vivid designs and shades. Some fared better than others...

Lupita Nyong'o was on everyone's (including mine) best dressed list after this red carpet and it's clear to see why.  The '12 Years a Slave' actress shut it down in this super elegant red Ralph Lauren gown with cape sleeves.  

Diane Kruger in Prabal Gurung - 2013 Metropolitan Opera Season Opening

Diane Kruger attended the Metropolitan Opera Season Opening production of the novel 'Eugene Onegin' in New York City.

She wore a charming Prabal Gurung Resort 2014 gown for the night which featured three bold colours, and a red lining to the asymmetrical black skirt which created drama.

Her look was styled in a 'basic' way - a side-parted low bun, Prabal Gurung for Chris Habana jewelry and white Prabal Gurung for Casadei pumps finished her look.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Prabal Gurung & Theyskens' Theory - 2013 New York City Ballet Fall Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker had a princess moment as she arrived at the 2013 New York City Ballet Fall Gala.

She wore a pink ballgown which was a collaboration between Prabal Gurung (who designed the top and bustier) and Olivier Theyskens (who made the skirt).

The two different shades of pink might seem strange at first glance but I liked the interest they created.  Between the sleek ponytail and diamond earrings, and the unique construction of this dress, SJP nailed this modern princess look.

Cate Blanchett in Prabal Gurung - Beauty in Wonderland Milan

Cate Blanchett attended the Beauty in Wonderland event in Milan, Italy during the fashion week.

She ditched her usual Italian favourite - Armani, in favour of a flirty and colorful red Prabal Gurung Resort 2014 dress.  The style is something different than what we are accustomed to seeing on Cate but it works nonetheless; love how the red lips match the feather hem too.

She finished her look with black peep toes by Roger Vivier.

Sandra Bullock in Prabal Gurung - 'The Heat' Boston Premiere

Sandra Bullock continues to astound us on her promotional tour for the movie 'The Heat'.

For the premiere in Boston, Sandra wore a fresh violet coloured Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 dress with a silk top and skirt and a sheer gauzy hemline.

As it often is, her hair remained sleek and straight and she completed the look with black and white heels from the same collection.

Emma Watson in Prabal Gurung - 2013 Met Ball

Emma Watson also tapped into her 'bad girl' side, displaying a lot of flesh at this year's Met Ball.

She wore a black Prabal Gurung Fall 2013 dress with multiple cut-outs.  It was a very simple look for Emma, consisting of just one spike earring and her heels. The make-up was fresh too, with emphasis on the eyebrows.

January Jones in Prabal Gurung - 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards

January Jones attended the 2013 SAG Awards in a dress by one of my favourite designers: Prabal Gurung.

Her Pre-Fall 2013 dress features a white upper bodice with a high ruffle neck and a black skirt. The simplicity of the colours balances the frivolity of the design.

January wore it with a bold hairstyle and blood orange lips, creating a visual punch.

Marion Cotillard in Prabal Gurung - W Magazine and Dom Perignon Pre-Golden Globes Party

Marion Cotillard wore a Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 ensemble to the W Magazine and Dom Perignon Pre-Golden Globes Party.

This is the third look we have seen from Prabal Gurung's Pre-Fall 2013 collection on the red carpet (see the other two here and here).

While I adore the lily-print tuxedo pants and the buttoned up blouse, something about this look felt lacklustre, which isn't a word I normal associate with Marion or PG.

A more stylish hairstyle, make-up and an edgy pair of heels would've dramatically improved her look.

Jennifer Lawrence in Prabal Gurung - 2013 AFI Awards

Jennifer Lawrence wore her second Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 look in a space of a day at the AFI Awards.

This time she nailed the look in this colourful, metallic neon tweed sheath dress.

The fit was impeccable as was the styling, which consisted of blow-dried, perfect locks and those fun Prabal Gurung for Casedai heels.

Jennifer Lawrence in Prabal Gurung - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Jennifer Lawrence attended the 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards where she was nominated for the Best Actress award for her role in 'Silver Linings Playbook'.

The young actress wore a sleek black Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 gown which featured sheer detail at the leather yoke, sweetheart neckline and all over draped detail.

While I adore the gown, the styling just doesn't cut it.  The hair looked messy and the jewelery was mismatched, the make-up too loud.

Kate Hudson in Prabal Gurung - amfAR Inspiration Gala LA

Kate Hudson brought her magic to the red carpet at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles.

The actress simply stunned in a red Prabal Gurung Resort 2013 gown.  The colour was sensational on Kate and despite the dress having shoulder cut outs and a plunging neckline, she managed to look elegant.

A quiffed ponytail, gold jewelry and the perfect make-up finished off her look.

Kate Middleton in Prabal Gurung - At the The Istana

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Istana today as they continue to travel during their Diamond Jubilee Tour of the Far East.

Maybe as a subtle nod to that, the Duchess of Cambridge donned a dress by Nepalese-born designer Prabal Gurung.  The beautiful, vivid printed dress is from the talented designer's Spring 2012 collection.

The dress was the first time I have seen Catherine wear something so modern.  And Prabal must be so happy to see British royalty wear his design - I know I am.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Prabal Gurung - 2012 Vogue Fashion's Night Out

Sarah Jessica Parker was out in NYC on VFNO at the Fred Leighton boutique.

She wore a Prabal Gurung which had short sleeves and an ombre effect at the hem.  

As usual, SJP dressed it up with accessories which included Fred Leighton jewels and Nicholas Kirkwood pumps.

Anne Hathaway in Prabal Gurung - 'The Dark Knight Rises' NYC Premiere

I was delighted to see Anne Hathaway in something that wasn't black at the premiere of 'The Dark Knight Rises' in New York City.

Anne chose this beautiful white Prabal Gurung Resort 2013 gown with a plunging neckline and peplum for the night.  This dress is just so beautiful that I can't take my eyes off it.

Anne's new hairstyle is quite the statement maker so she kept things simple with pink lips and earrings.

Hailee Steinfeld in Prabal Gurung - 2012 Young Hollywood Awards

Hailee Steinfeld was my best dressed at the 2012 Young Hollywood Awards.

The young actress wore a sleeveless top with floral embellishments and flared pants from the Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 collection.  

It was perfectly youthful but formal enough for the event, and despite being from a fall/winter collection, did not feel inappropriate.  She wore it with wavy hair, an Edie Parker clutch and Brian Atwood shoes.

Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung - 2012 CFDA Awards

Zoe Saldana attended the annual CFDA Fashion Awards at the Alice Tully hall in New York City.  

The event, which is heralded as the Oscars of the high fashion world was attended by Zoe in a Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 gown (she was also his date).

It's not often that we see Zoe do sleek, minimal looks but she worked it in this black dress with sheer panels and long sleeves. The slicked back hair, subtle cat eyes and dewy make-up really uplifted her look.

Jessica Chastain in Prabal Gurung - 2012 CFDA Awards

Jessica Chastain attended the 2012 CFDA Awards in a Prabal Gurung Resort 2013 dress.

She came across all angelic in this floaty, ivory creation with sparkly beading.  With her beautiful hair and light make-up, Jessica looked absolutely gorgeous.

She wore the dress with those killer, spiked gold Prabal Gurung FW 12 ankle-strap shoes which were seen on Diane Kruger during Cannes but didn't really sell them to us.

Diane Kruger in Prabal Gurung - Nights in Monaco Gala Fundraiser

Diane Kruger attended the Nights in Monaco gala fundraiser event at the Casino in Monte Carlo two yesterday.

She wore a Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 dress with a sheer, gold embellished bodice and a white feather skirt.  She as usual, rocked the look.


And oh yeah, Bill Clinton was there.

The styling was impeccable as always, Diane wore her hair in an updo and smokey eyes.  Accessories included a geometric Roger Vivier clutch and Prabal Gurung heels (from the Fall collection.  Living for those heels.

Anne Hathaway in Prabal Gurung - The Decades Ball: The 1920′s

Anne Hathaway stepped out for the The Decades Ball:The 1920′s in New York City last night.

The actress, who is sporting a new hairstyle for her role in the upcoming movie 'Les Miserables' wore a Prabal Gurung dress.

The strapless dress with an almost ombre skirt did not fit Anne's frame at all and looked like a sack, to be frank.  The Tiffany & Co. necklace was a sweet touch but the Miu Miu heels let her down.
