I love the romantic ruffled detail around shoulder and the unique colour; I would have never imagined seeing the Jess in this. So bonus points for the pleasant surprise.

'Gravity' actress Sandra Bullock won the award for Best Actress in an Action Movie at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards last night.
She looked beautiful in a wine coloured Lanvin dress with romantic, yet streamlined ruffled tiers down the length of the gown which was cinched in at the waist with a hard-edged black belt.
Sandra wore her brunette hair in a sleek, straight style and completed the look with dainty Fred Leighton earrings. Love.

The 'Anchorman' actress wore a demure but eye-catching red Marchesa dress with the signature tulle and delicate details. As a presenter, it was a good choice for her to wear this fairly relaxed dress.

Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep made quite the accessory statement at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, held in CA last evening.
Julia was clad in a printed, silk dress by the currently popular Juan Carlos Obando. The print was alright, but the silk wasn't particularly flattering on Julia's statuesque figure - I much preferred the structure of her Golden Globes dress - see here. A tousled, carefree hairstyle complimented the dress and her look was finished off with a Barbara Bui clutch.
Meryl Streep wore a shorter, cocktail dress in a midnight blue colour, by Stella McCartney. The beaded dress was elegant on Meryl and she finished her look with sheer tights and black heels.

Kristen Bell bought a dash of drama to the red carpet at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.
In a sea of minimalist dresses, lots of cheery colours and natural make-up, Kristen stood out in her black Pamella Roland dress with a half sequined panel, halter neck, and keyhole. And not to mention, that long train trailing behind her.
Normally I would be in two minds about these many details, but Kristen just carried herself so effortlessly. A strong updo, bold eyes and an Edie Parker clutch finished her look.

The French actress, who I was expecting to see in a Dior dress, surprised us by wearing a beautiful Zuhair Murad Fall 2012 Couture cocktail dress.
It's obvious how beautiful this floral, embellished fit and flare dress is so I don't need to say anything further. A side parted, low bun and neutral make-up made sure all eyes remained on the dress. The nude accessories also helped, she wore Jimmy Choo heels, and carried a Louboutin clutch.
