Models at the 2014 CFDA Awards

The 2014 CFDA Awards took place last night.  So obviously, there were models present.

Hilary Rhoda was my favourite.  She looked exquisite in her peach J. Mendel Spring 2014 gown, worn with wavy hair and striking dark lips.

Jessica Stam looked statuesque in a white jumpsuit with a keyhole neckline.

Chanel Iman looked lovely in her black lace Monique Lhuillier gown with embellishments.

Emmy Rossum in J. Mendel - 2014 CFDA Awards

Emmy Rossum was a delight to watch at the 2014 CFDA Awards.

The actress selected a vibrant moss green J. Mendel Spring 2014 dress with a beautiful embellished bodice and a pleated, layered skirt.  The colour was wonderful on her.

A braided updo and a gentle smokey eye balanced each other and Emmy completed the look with a gold clutch and black Manolo Blahnik pumps.

2014 Golden Globes - Neutrals (Part I)

Rashida Jones brought her cool style to the red carpet at the Golden Globes.  The 'Parks & Recreation' star wore a dress from the Fausto Puglisi Spring 2014 collection.  I loved this cream dress with a gold embellished palm tree design from the moment I saw the runway picture and I can't think of a better person to wear it than Rashida. A top-knot, pear ear-cuffs and a dark lip colour complimented her look.

Zooey Deschanel in J. Mendel - 2013 Emmy Awards

Zooey Deschanel attended the 2013 Emmy Awards in LA last night.

The actress, whose style is often labelled 'quirky', actually toned it down in favour of a classic, restrained approach.

The periwinkle J. Mendel column dress was just stunning on Zooey, who wore it with a voluminous hairstyle, white Charlotte Olympia platform pumps and a glittering Edie Parker clutch.

Alyson Hannigan & Cobie Smulders - 2013 Emmy Awards

Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders of 'How I Met Your Mother' attended the Emmys, as their show was nominated in the Comedy Series category.

Purple was a popular, as Alyson Hannigan wore a shade of it in the form of her strapless Marchesa Resort 2014 dress which featured a sweetheart neckline.   Wavy hair and a clutch completed her look.

Cobie Smulders was clad in an ivory J. Mendel creation - she was simply glowing.

Kate Mara in J. Mendel - 2013 Emmy Awards

Kate Mara, who stars in the Netflix original drama 'House of Cards' impressed at the Emmys.

Kate has had a successful style run this year and this J. Mendel Spring 2014 dress kept in line with that.  There was a freshness about her look and the leg slit in the white skirt provided the perfect balance to the sporty feel of that full-sleeved mesh top.

A straight hairstyle, smokey eyes and white sandals by Charlotte Olympia kept her look modern and interesting.

Leslie Mann in J. Mendel - 2013 Emmy Awards

Leslie Mann, actress and wife of Hollywood producer Judd Apatow attended the 2013 Emmy Awards (Judd produces the Emmy nominated 'Girls').

Leslie wore a high-neck, chevron patterned gown from the J. Mendel Resort 2014 collection.  The dress was bold enough so I'm glad she just let her red hair and the embellishments do all the talking.

Miranda Kerr in J. Mendel - 'Romeo & Juliet' Broadway Premiere

Orlando Bloom is currently acting on Broadway, in 'Romeo & Juliet' in which he, of course, plays the role of a modern Romeo.

His wife, Aussie supermodel, Miranda Kerr supported him at the premiere of his play in a lovely, ethereal J. Mendel dress in the lightest of mint hues.  The colour was refreshing to see and I loved the full sleeves which balanced out the patchwork bodice & keyhole neckline nicely.

A light pink lip colour, soft wavy hair and blushed cheeks completed her look, along with a clutch and sparkly Louboutins.

Malin Akerman in J. Mendel - 2013 ESPY Awards

Malin Akerman showed off her gorgeous post baby body and glow at this year's ESPY Awards.

She donned a refreshing blue J. Mendel Fall 2013 dress to the event, which had a low neckline and a flared skirt, with black lining.

Malin finished her look with a Hunting Season clutch, jewelry by Loree Rodkin and Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

Models at the 2013 Met Ball

Cara Delevingne wore Burberry of course.  Her custom-made black dress had full sleeves and a gold studded bodice.  The partially braided hair was a major trend.

Karlie Kloss wore a loose-fitting Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 dress with beautiful embellishments.  The red lips and hair are costume-ish but it is the place to look like that.

Taylor Swift in J. Mendel - 2013 Met Ball

Taylor Swift brought along her new 'bad girl' (in terms of fashion) persona to the 2013 Met Ball that she attended with Gilles Mendel.

She attended the event wearing a black, figure-hugging J. Mendel dress with a fully embellished neckline and netted inserts.  Taylor completely sold us this punk-glam look with her dramatic cat eyes, black accessories and general attitude.

Amy Adams in J. Mendel - 2013 Oscars Nominees Luncheon

Amy Adams was pretty in purple at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon.

The red haired actress wore a printed J. Mendel Spring 2013 dress with a high neck and full sleeves and a cinched in waist.  The dress is soft, and pretty, very much on the lines of what Amy usually prefers to wear but I would have never imagined her in this dress, to be frank.

Having said that, she looked very elegant wearing it, and I especially loved her hairstyle.  She completed her look with glossy lips and nude Louboutin 'Daffodil' pumps.

Sally Field in J. Mendel - 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards

'Lincoln' actress and female actress in a supporting role nominee Sally Field looked lovely at the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

She wore a beautiful violet dress from the J. Mendel Spring 2013 collection.  The light, feminine chiffon dress featured a plunging neckline and delicate embellishments.

Sally wore it with Martin Katz jewels and a contrasting blue clutch.

2013 Golden Globes - Black (Part II)

Black reigned supreme at the Golden Globes this year.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was statuesque in a Saint Laurent Spring 2013 gown.  The model-turned-actress flaunted her long legs in the black halter neck gown with a leg split.

Rosie went the minimal way with her and added a touch of colour with her lips.

Kerry Washington - 'Django Unchained' Press Tour

Kerry Washington has had a whirlwind press tour for her movie 'Django Unchained', directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson.

Even though I didn't blog all her looks, I was of course, keeping an eye on them and was amazed to see that she didn't take a single misstep throughout the hectic photocalls and premieres.

Starting off in Rome, Kerry donned a colourful Peter Pilotto Spring 2013 dress and for the premiere, she wore a simple Prada dress with a keyhole detail at the waist.  I loved her effortless make-up and hair.

For the Paris premiere, she wore a beautiful, printed strapless gown from the Rochas Spring 2013 collection.  The verdict being head-to-toe perfection. 

Then for the Berlin photocall, she went all mod on us with her white and ivory, checkered Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 dress.  She went full on with the headband and white shoes.

For the German premiere, it was a breezy, colourful J. Mendel Spring 2013 gown and she ended the tour with a magnificent Giles Spring 2013 gown in London.

I wish all press tours went like this.

Emily VanCamp in J. Mendel - 2012 Emmy Awards

Emily VanCamp attended her first Emmy Awards in LA last night.

The Canadian actress, who was a presenter wore a dress from the J. Mendel Resort 2013 collection.  The dove grey dress gave off a soft vibe due to all the tulle material.

Sure, the colour could have been more exciting but Emily's aesthetic is all about neutrals.  An updo and Van Cleef and Arpels jewels finished off her look.

Kat Dennings in J. Mendel & Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen - 2012 Emmy Awards

Kat Dennings of '2 Broke Girls' wore a strapless chiffon gown from the J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2012 collection to the Emmys.  I thought she looked great but it was hardly ground-breaking.

Kelly Osbourne broke out her purple make-up to match her lavender Zac Posen Resort 2013, one-shoulder gown.  I liked the hair on this occassion, not so much the colour as the style, mind you.

Taylor Swift in J. Mendel - 2012 MTV Video Music Awards

Taylor Swift attended the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards in LA looking sharp.

The singer skipped her beloved sparkly, pretty dress for this white pant suit by J. Mendel. Frankly, my jaw dropped when I saw Taylor wearing this, mainly because it was so out of the blue.  But she rocked it.  

The straight hair, red lips and sandals signal a strong shift in her style, I'm hoping this continues.

Lucy Liu in J. Mendel - CBS, The CW & Showtime 2012 TCA Party

Lucy Liu looked flawless at the CBS, The CW & Showtime 2012 TCA Party in Beverley Hills last week.

She opted for a fit and flare LBD with cut outs near the neck, from the J. Mendel Fall 2012 collection. 

It was worn by her with a sleek ponytail, Brian Atwood pumps and a burgundy Judith Leiber clutch.  I loved this elegant, sophisticated look from the actress.

Nina Dobrev in J. Mendel - 2012 Teen Choice Awards

Nina Dobrev had a good night at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday.


'The Vampire Diaries' actress took home the award for Best TV Actress in a Fantasy/Sci-Fi series' for her role in the show as Elena Gilbert/Katherine Pierce.


Nina looked wonderful in a teal J. Mendel dress; the colour of the strapless, sculptural dress was lovely on her.  She wore it with gold jewelery, which was stunning.


A pinned back hairstyle and gold Jimmy Choo 'Ghana' heels completed her look.
