Olivia Palermo in Ann Taylor - 2014 CFDA Awards

Olivia Palermo donned a textured sweater and fringed skirt, all by Ann Taylor for her outing at the 2014 CFDA Awards.

Even though I hate that she wore something so heavy and dark in June, I love the accessories.  The choker, the Lulu Guinness clutch and those lust worthy Aquazzura heels are all beautiful.

Olivia Palermo in Dennis Basso - 2013 CFDA Awards

Olivia Palermo shined at the 2013 CFDA Awards.

The fashion icon wore a dreamy Spring 2013 dress by the American designer Dennis Basso with embellishments and a tassel skirt.

As always, Olivia mixed high street into her look with the addition of the print clutch and yellow lace-up heels, both by one of her favourite brands, Zara.

Olivia Palermo in Roberto Cavalli - 2013 Cannes Film Festival Day 10 & 'The Immigrant' Premiere

Olivia Palermo attended the screening of 'The Immigrant' in Cannes on Friday.

The fashionista wore another Roberto Cavalli dress.  This time, she wore a sequined gold dress with a dramatic train.

In true OP fashion, she topped the dress with an interesting, embroidered Zara jacket and finished off the look with a feather clutch.

Olivia Palermo in Roberto Cavalli - 2013 amfAR Gala

Olivia Palermo totally surprised me at the amfAR Cinema against Aids gala in Cannes.

The usually demure socialite sported a cut-out, animal-print Roberto Cavalli dress which carried a lot of the signature Cavalli sex appeal.

She wore the dress with a side ponytail, a glittering clutch and printed sandals.

Olivia Palermo in Christian Dior - 2012 NYC Ballet Fall Gala

Olivia Palermo was in attendance at the NYC Ballet Fall Gala with her beau Johannes Huebl.

She opted to wear a dress from the Christian Dior Spring 2012 collection for this event, instead of Valentino.  I am surprised by this move as Olivia is a staunch Valentino supporter  and this event was in celebration of the designer himself.

Nevertheless, she looked good in this dress with a black, one-shoulder bodice and pale pink pleated tiers running down its length.  As usual, Olivia made the look her own by way of fun accessories such as the belt and the feathered purple clutch.

Olivia Palermo in Valentino - Valentino Fall 2012 Couture Presentation

Olivia P sat front row at the Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2012 presentation in Paris yesterday.  I'm pleased to write that the collection is everything we expect from the label, with a darker side.

Olivia looked pretty as ever, in a candy pink Valentino Spring 2012 creation, with lace and tulle tiers.

As always, her accessories made the look more special.  Big hair, pearl earrings and glittering sandals completed her fabulous look.

Olivia Palermo in BCBG Max Azria - 2012 Convivio Charity Gala

If you follow her on Twitter, you would know that Olivia Palermo travelled to Milan this week.

She attended a charity gala there in a BCBG Max Azria Fall 2011 dress; the loose-fitting tomato red dress with a beige neckline was worn by Olivia with a black belt and slinky Boutique 9 sandals.

Normally Olivia is decked in accessories like contrasting earrings, rings, clutch but here she went for a subtle look.

Olivia Palermo - Street Style

Over the month of May, Olivia Palermo was seen around New York City in a line-up of super stylish outfits, perfect for the warmer weather.  She carried a Gerard Darel crochet handbag - Olivia picked this up on her Ireland visit.

I love every single ensemble - from the mixing of prints, silhouettes, textures and accessories.

Olivia Palermo in Zara - 'Safe' NYC Premiere

Olivia Palermo attended the NYC premiere of 'Safe' on Monday night.

She wore matching silk floral separates from Zara, topping it with a black blazer.

The main focus of Olivia's ensembles is her accessories and at this event she wore a beautiful gemstone necklace and carried a vintage Hermes clutch; silver brogues from Zara completed her look.

Fashion Roundup

Jennifer Lopez is looking amazing on 'American Idol' these days.

It was a skirt & top by Maria Lucia Hohan for her once and then she wore a neon pink Michael Kors Resort 2012 gown on another night.  You might remember the pink gown on Brooklyn Decker at the Met Ball last year (click here).

Alexa Chung wore a Bella Freud sweater with a flower print Celine Resort 2012 skirt at the Annual British Designers Collective in London with Nicholas Kirkwood loafers.

January Jones was busy in NYC, promoting the new season of 'Mad Men'; she stopped by the New York Times in a lacy top, khaki coloured leather skinnies and a blazer.  I like that she pulled her hair back on this occasion.

Looks like Diane Kruger is favouring the pyjama trend. She stepped out in West Hollywood in this pyjama-esque green shirt with white piping that she wore with cropped leather pants & nude pointy pumps - so effortless.

Olivia Palermo attended the Gala Spa Awards in a white Tibi gown with a plunging neckline - she kept her accessories simple to let the dress take centre stage.

Nicole Richie celebrated her cover of a magazine in a neutral Todd Lynn dress which looked good on her but was creased a little too much for my liking.  As usual, House of Harlow accessories and Louboutins completed her look.

Nicole stepped out in Miami for a little R&R in a pyjama-esque House of Harlow ensemble.  I think it's breezy and comfy, so appropriate for vacation wear.

Olivia Palermo at Paris Fashion Week

I realise that this post is a little late but here goes anyway.

Olivia Palermo attended some shows during PFW last week and as always she looked ultra fabulous.

At the Hogan by Karl Lagerfeld presentation, she wore a menswear inspired pant-suit with cropped pants, a white blouse. She brightened up the look for the evening with an aqua chain-strap clutch & her favourite Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Then for the Christian Dior show she wore a paint splatter print, drop-waist dress with a black cardigan.  A metallic envelope clutch & caged heels completed the look.

She was spotted leaving her hotel in an all-black ensemble which was spruced up by the addition of a vibrant, electric-blue tote.

Olivia Palermo at London Fashion Week

No Fashion Week is complete without the presence of Olivia Palermo. She kept things stylish in her signature separates as she attended numerous shows at LFW .

Which of her looks do you like?  I can't get past her satin Manolo Blahniks.

Click here to see some of her looks at LFW last year.

Fashion Roundup

Olivia Palermo attended a few events in NYC in an array of stylish outfits.

At a movie screening, she wore a white sheer blouse with a furry vest, skinny pants and feathered Louboutin boots. A cool panther pendant, gold bangles and a Lulu Guinness clutch completed her look.

Olivia arrived at the Carlo Pazolini party in cropped, metallic pants, a grey sweater & a leather sleeved jacket.  Accessories included a statement necklace, a bright yellow clutch and satin blue Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Beyonce stepped out for another Jay Z concert, in a sequined Monique Lhuillier dress which she wore with a furry Chanel clutch and ankle-strap heels.

Solange Knowles  attended the Carlo Pazolini store opening in NYC.  Loving her take on amping up neutral basics.

Camila Alves took in the Leila Shams show at NYFW in a cool black & neon mini by the designer, topping it with a leather jacket.  Wavy tresses, a large clutch and open-toe boots completed her look.

Paula Patton wore a sky blue Versus dress with cutout sleeves and an architectural skirt.  Something about the way the top sits on this dress really irks me, and I'm not a fan of it on Paula.

Sarah Jessica Parker attended a book launch in NYC in a grey shift dress which she wore with sheer polka-dot tights, a black blazer and a Chanel bag.  It's understated but so chic.

Angelina Jolie met with the German foreign minister in a white dress, worn with a matching belted coat.  Diamond earrings & nude peep-toes completed her elegant look.

Fashion Roundup

Eva Longoria attended a ball in a Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 gown.  The black gown with lace covered panels looked elegant on Eva.

Minka Kelly wore a red dress by Nonoo to a Bacardi event.  She opted for nude Brian Atwood pumps what a surprise.  Seriously, she needs a shoe-vention!

Jessica Alba made an appearance on 'The Wendy Williams Show' wearing a printed Anna Sui dress with tights and pumps. She never puts a stylish foot wrong!

Kristen Bell appeared on 'Good Day L.A.' in a colourful ensemble of a red blouse tucked into a floral Vanessa Bruno skirt.  Loving the colours but the black pumps are kind of killing this look.

Ashley Tisdale attended the premiere of 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' in a one-shoulder lace dress by Nightcap with a scalloped hem.  The dress is good, the styling is boring and honestly, a little tacky.

Ashley Greene wore a purple shift by DKNY for Lucky magazine cover party.  The understated yet chic look works on Ashley.

Miranda Kerr was spotted outside the Sydney Opera House in a printed silk dress that she wore with a thin belt & burgundy pumps.  I love this fresh, business-chic look.

Olivia Palermo strolled around NYC in a signature mix and match ensemble of a leather top, topped with a fur gilet and paired with leggings, suede boots.  The printed scarf and textured handbag add interest to the look.

Emmy Rossum wore a heart-print Anna Sui dress for Ashley Greene's Lucky magazine cover party - it's perfect for Valentine's Day no?

Michelle Obama wore a sparkly Michael Kors sweater with an icey blue J. Crew skirt for a TV appearance. Love the beaded belt and pink pumps!

Fashion Roundup

Anne Hathaway attended an event in LA wearing this black, halter-neck black column dress which is doing no favours for her!  The styling is so-so too.

Elle MacPherson wore a Tom Ford Fall 2011 dress for the National Television Awards in London.  Between the severe, braided ponytail, statement earrings and the embellished dress, this is just a mess.

Emmy Rossum did a television show appearance in a gorgeous, fuschia coloured DKNY Pre-Fall 2012 frock with a tied top and pleated skirt that she wore with nude pumps.  I would have preferred to see the top fully tucked in though.

For another television appearance, she opted for a printed Peter Pilotto sheath which she wore with a ponytail, lots of eyeliner, a black bangle and black pumps.  Another winning ensemble.

Jessica Chastain attended the Armani Prive Spring 2012 Couture show in Paris wearing a dress by the brand.  Love this black dress with a beaded orange collar, it's quite unexpected on Jessica.

Claire Danes, who was chosen as Harvard's Hast Pudding Woman of the Year wore a printed Oscar de la Renta frock for the ceremony.  This look was just screaming for a pop of colour right?

Olivia Palermo attended the Christian Dior Spring 2012 couture show in a cream coloured tunic & leather leggings which she accessorised with a statement necklace, a feather cuff, a bright clutch and black booties.

Zoe Saldana promoted her new movie at the Sundance Film Festival in this cute jean-top-blazer combo that she spruced up with forest green Brian Atwood shoes.

Chic Casual Style

A chic casual dressing style is one that takes years to master (sometimes days if you can afford a personal stylist).

These are some recent casual celebrity looks which I love.

Olivia Palermo - her first outfit was an instant hit with me.  Light, flared jeans are hard to wear right in the winter months but Olivia styled them perfectly with a burgundy peacoat, animal-print scarf & a divine Valentino handbag.

In the second one, she wears a navy coloured dress with matching boots (!), all topped off with a fur-collar coat.

Miranda Kerr managed to look chic in a colourful mohair cardigan - quite the feat.  The model wore it with a simple v-neck white tee, faded jeans & suede ankle boots.

Blake Lively was spotted strolling around Boston in Diesel jeans, tough looking boots, a moto jacket, an oversized, tribal-print scarf & a Givenchy bag.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley wore a striped sweater, with an oversized, animal-print scarf, jeans & gorgeous, embellished Chanel boots.

Kate Bosworth did some shopping in LA, wearing a rustic, orange striped top by Proenza Schouler with black jeans and edgy black Chloé boots.

The Best-Dressed of 2011

2011 has gone quicker than I thought it would and it's time to draw up my second annual 'Best-dressed' list! Happy holidays to one and all! xo

 10. Australian beauty Miranda Kerr takes the tenth spot in this list.

I know she's a supermodel and has the ability to wear anything and still look fantastic, however, I'm more a fan of her street style; her casual day looks range from basic neutrals to floral maxis and she looks effortlessly chic in everything (while carrying her baby in tow sometimes).
Oh, and she's pretty stunning in formal togs too.

9. Jessica Alba gave us all a master class in maternity style this year.

Maxi dresses are a fail-safe choice for any mother-to-be but Jess made sure to keep every look interesting by way of the dress, accessories, and hair.
My personal favourites are the floral, off-shoulder Dolce & Gabbana dress & teal coloured, swallow-print Issa maxi.

8. Leighton Meester is without a doubt, the shoe queen of the red carpet.

In 2011 she wowed me in all her ensembles and from the girly Vera Wang dress to the edgy Michael Kors gown, Leighton always kept things fun and fashionable.
And you'll (almost) never catch this girl in a pair of boring black pumps.

7.  Emma Watson takes spot number 7, for her enchanting, feminine sense of style.

Not one to be seen in skin-tight or short dresses, Emma sticks to her girly silhouettes and designs.  She went for that famous pixie hairstyle earlier this year and this only added to her charm.
Personal favourites are the Oscar de la Renta gown & the Jason Wu ensemble.

6. Sarah Jessica Parker made many red carpet appearances in 2011, largely because she starred in a movie ('I Don't Know How She Does It').

Her summer wardrobe also included a lot of clothes by one of my favourite designers - Prabal Gurung and she single-handedly revived the white pump trend.
SJP may overdo the crazy accessories at times, but you can't accuse her of looking boring.

5. I honestly don't know how I forgot to put Freida Pinto in my best-dressed last year because ever since the Indian actress starred in 'Slumdog Millionaire', she has been giving us stellar looks.

This year, Freida starred in a lot of movies, which was great for us as we saw a variety of fantastic looks from her.  Personal favourites are the Ralph Lauren jumpsuit & the Antonio Berardi dress.

4. Olivia Palermo is the only true blue fashionista on this list as she's not an actress.

The NYC based socialite and designer is known for her superb accessorising skills and the ability to put together stylish outfits from quirky separates.  Her signature items include her Stuart Weitzman sandals and a fringed clutch.

 3. Diane Kruger has been the most consistent this year.

The German actress kept firm hold of her fashion icon status by wearing her favourites like Chanel and Jason Wu but also ventured out in a high-fashion, neon Alessandra Rich gown (a favourite of mine).

2. Zoe Saldana takes the second spot on this list.  It's not hard to see why as Zoe has a really fun, playful view of fashion.

She's always ahead of the pack, wearing pieces fresh off the runway and I have to say, she's one of those rare ladies in Hollywood who can carry off an ankle-strap without making her legs look stumpy.

  1. Leading the charge is Emma Stone.  This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

The girl starred in three big movies ('Friends with Benefits', 'Crazy, Stupid, Love.' & 'The Help') and wore designs from virtually every label in the world.
I love how Emma always looks confident & comfortable in whatever she's wearing - she wears the dress, not the other way around.

Fashion Roundup

Kate Middleton made waves by opting for a printed Zara frock, while attending a concert at the Royal Albert Hall.  Even though the jacket, tights, pumps, simple hair are all very signature K.Middleton, the hemline has gone up by a few inches than usual!

Jessica Chastain wore a Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 dress at the Marrakech Film Festival.  The colour is pretty on her but the shiny, slightly creased material is unsightly.

Dianna Agron attended the Trevor Live event in a halter dress with an embellished neck.  A pompadour hairstyle added interest to her look but otherwise her black accessories felt uninspiring.

Olivia Palermo wore a sequined Marchesa dress with three-quarter sleeves to the Valentino Garavani digital museum opening.  As usual, her accessories worked their magic:  the Valentino heels are lovely as is the pink clutch.

Elizabeth Olsen looked swish in NYC, in a crisp, white button down tucked into high-waisted grey trousers.  A blowout, shades & leather pumps completed her city look.

Felicity Jones attended a party by Bulgari, in a high-neck blouse paired with a tough looking leather skirt.  Such a simple look but done so well.

Olivia Palermo In Matthew Williamson - 2011 British Fashion Awards

Olivia Palermo attended the British Fashion Awards as a presenter, in a Fall 2011 dress by British designer (obviously) - Matthew Williamson.

Olivia's love affair with fringed dresses continues, in this intricate tribal-print dress with fringed tiers and embellishments.

She wore the look with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, a blue clutch and Topshop booties.

Her look is spot on, but that clutch could have stayed at home.

Fashion Roundup

Selena Gomez was spotted at Disney do, wearing a one-shoulder grey mini with a cutout, wearing it with gold hoops & t-strap heels - so simple yet striking.

Kerry Washington graced the photographers a lot this week, first in Marc Jacobs ensemble, and then at a L'Oreal event.  She wore a gold silk Ralph Lauren gown with gold & black beads, a chunky clutch and glossy, side-parted hair.

Also at the L'Oreal bash, was Andie McDowell, in a sparkly gold David Meister gown - she let the dress do the talking and went jewellery-less.  Straight hair & apricot coloured lips completed her gorgeous look.

Julianna Marguiles attended the event in a lovely, berry-hued draped dress, worn with strappy heels.

Ashley Greene surprised me in a positive manner by wearing a cobalt blue Vera Wang dress with a draped one-shoulder at an Avon event.  Love the retro hairstyle and even the black pumps look alright!

Olivia Palermo attended the Princess Grace Foundation Gala in NYC last week, dressed in a satin, peach coloured Rochas dress.  I love the addition of the Giorgio Armani stole, vibrant earrings and matching Charlotte Olympia heels. Inspired.

Also at the Princess Grace Foundation Gala was Olivia Munn - dressed in head-to-toe Calvin Klein.  Love the metallic silver shade on her skintone.

Lea Michele wore yet another white dress, by Versus, at a Christian Louboutin event.  She added grey ankle booties to the mix, which make her feet look wide.  Some sleek pumps/strappy heels would've done the job.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley also attended the Louboutin do, in a high-neck,vintage blouse with a keyhole neck along with leather pants and gold cap-toe pumps.  I dislike the blouse, but otherwise the look is flawless.

Kerry Washington was spotted at the Keep A Child Alive Black Ball, in a white tulle Donna Karan number.  As much as I like the quirky dress, Kerry's choice of shoes & clutch aren't working, neither is the make-up.

Tyra Banks attended the event in a bright purple David Meister fishtail-hem gown.  Love the sleek bun, bright lip and dangly earrings.

Padma Lakshmi donned a barely mint Alberta Ferreti dress with some mismatched ethnic jewellery, not her best look.
