Minka Kelly in Thakoon - 2013 Comic-Con

The pretty Minka Kelly was also at Comic-Con over the weekend, for the promotion of her new supernatural themed TV show called 'Almost Human'.

For the event, she wore a lovely, striped white and light pink Thakoon Resort 2013 dress with oversized, three-quarter sleeves.  I like the sport-chic feel of this dress and the fresh summer hues.

Minka wore her hair in a ponytail and finished out her look with pink rimmed Casadei pumps.

Minka Kelly in Carolina Herrera - 2013 Met Ball

Minka Kelly attended the 2013 Met Ball in a Carolina Herrera Fall 2013 dress.

Her dark purple dress had a high neck, colourfully embellished shoulders and a waist-cinching belt, along with full sleeves and lace overlay.

It is a lot visually, but I think that Minka carries it off superbly, with a messy braided updo and a bold wine lip colour.  The punk element has gone glam here.

Ginnifer Goodwin attended the LACMA Art + Film Gala with her boyfriend Josh Dallas.

The actress wore a fierce dress from the Gucci Fall 2012 collection which had a sheer top and a gorgeous, iridescent feathered pencil skirt.

Ginnfer completed the look with a sleek hairstyle and gorgeous make-up.

Zoe Saldana & Minka Kelly - Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Zoe Saldana joined Minka Kelly (and more) at the annual Polo Classic in New Jersey on Friday.

Minka in a simple dress was no surprise.  She looked pretty in a lacy white Zac Posen dress which was worn with Christian Louboutin sandals... no pumps!  Laid-back tresses and aviators completed her look.


Zoe Saldana shocked me a little bit, in her Theyskens' Theory t-shirt and leather shorts.  It seemed very out of place for a polo match.  A ponytail and tan sandals (Louboutins) concluded the look.

'City of Style' Book Launch

The launch of the book 'City of Style' was attended by Mandy Moore, Minka Kelly and Kristen Bell in LA last Wednesday.  As the event was held at the 3.1 Phillip Lim store, the ladies were decked in clothes by the label.

Mandy Moore wore a bright blue dress with a beaded collar by 3.1 Phillip Lim; the colour was fresh but the length of the dress was awkward.

Minka Kelly looked sweet in a loose fitting raspberry pink dress with a keyhole neckline which she paired with fine gold jewelery.  I wish she'd swapped those nude pumps for some sandals.

Kristen Bell wore a swingy, peach hued dress with three pleats in the front.  I love this colour, it's quintessentially summer and how she paired it with mint coloured ShoeMint pumps.  Her hair wasn't boring either but I would've liked to see a sleek ponytail.

Minka Kelly attended the opening of the Marquee club in Sydney on Friday night.

She skipped her usual dress routine in favour of a leather top from J Brand and a pair of floral print Dolce & Gabbana jeans.

And she didn't wear boring black/nude pumps either, instead choosing these electric blue peep-toes and finishing her look with a yellow Jimmy Choo clutch.

Kate Spade New York Celebrates Brad Goreski's 'Born to Be Brad: My Life and Style, So Far'

Jessica Alba, Mandy Moore and Minka Kelly all stepped out to celebrate Hollywood stylist, Brad Goreski's new book called 'Born to Be Brad: My Life and Style, So Far' with the help of Kate Spade New York (Brad is an exclusive brand stylist for the label).

Jessica Alba looked fashion forward in colour-block separates by Kate Spade New York (heavily influenced by Brad Goreski's personal style, it seems). She threw on a soft leather jacket, a yellow bag and cap-toe Giuseppe Zannoti pumps to complete her fabulous look.

Mandy Moore wore a Lela Rose Spring 2012 dress to the do - in comparison to Jessica's outfit, this white dress with a peplum just doesn't stand a chance.  To worsen the look further, she wore those clunky black pumps.  She also carried a bright Kate Spade New York clutch but it seemed like an after thought.

Minka Kelly looked Spring-ready, in a poppy-print Kate Spade New York dress that had flirty sleeves; Minka kept things simple as always, just putting on Sergio Rossi pumps to finish her look.

Eva Longoria attended a ball in a Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 gown.  The black gown with lace covered panels looked elegant on Eva.

Minka Kelly wore a red dress by Nonoo to a Bacardi event.  She opted for nude Brian Atwood pumps what a surprise.  Seriously, she needs a shoe-vention!

Jessica Alba made an appearance on 'The Wendy Williams Show' wearing a printed Anna Sui dress with tights and pumps. She never puts a stylish foot wrong!

Kristen Bell appeared on 'Good Day L.A.' in a colourful ensemble of a red blouse tucked into a floral Vanessa Bruno skirt.  Loving the colours but the black pumps are kind of killing this look.

 Ashley Tisdale attended the premiere of 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' in a one-shoulder lace dress by Nightcap with a scalloped hem.  The dress is good, the styling is boring and honestly, a little tacky. 

Ashley Greene wore a purple shift by DKNY for Lucky magazine cover party.  The understated yet chic look works on Ashley.

 Miranda Kerr was spotted outside the Sydney Opera House in a printed silk dress that she wore with a thin belt & burgundy pumps.  I love this fresh, business-chic look.

Olivia Palermo strolled around NYC in a signature mix and match ensemble of a leather top, topped with a fur gilet and paired with leggings, suede boots.  The printed scarf and textured handbag add interest to the look.

 

Emmy Rossum wore a heart-print Anna Sui dress for Ashley Greene's Lucky magazine cover party - it's perfect for Valentine's Day no?

Michelle Obama wore a sparkly Michael Kors sweater with an icey blue J. Crew skirt for a TV appearance. Love the beaded belt and pink pumps!

Minka Kelly In Oscar de la Renta - 2012 Art of Elysium Gala

Minka doesn't usually do bright, bold colours so this was a nice change.  The chartreuse chiffon gown with a plunging drape front & back and train looked lovely on her.

Some more accessories wouldn't have gone amiss and I wish she'd kept the waist belt that's on the original. I do like her gold Tiffany & Co. clutch though.

Yellow/chartreuse are going to be huge this awards season!  A nice change from the neutral/blush/pink shades that ruled last year (click here & here).

Michael Kors opened a boutique on Robertson Boulevard, LA.

Zoe Saldana attended wearing a canary yellow Michael Kors Spring 2012 sheath with tan heels; wavy hair, classic red lips, and a caramel croc clutch - best dressed for me.

Cat Deeley wore a tan coloured, zip-front Spring 2012 dress with her signature mane of blonde locks, and knotted tan sandals.

2011 Guys Choice Awards

Spike TV's 5th annual Guy's Choice Awards took place Saturday night at the Sony Pictures Studios in California and was fêted by a host of actresses.

Scarlett Johansson put on a cute Valentino dress, with strappy heels. I'm not so much into that hair style though.

Upcoming British actress (and established model) Rosie Huntingdon Whitely wore a plunge neck white dress by The Row, accessorising it with slinky gold accessories.


Minka Kelly wore a fitted cobalt blue cocktail dress by Fendi with blush pink suede Brian Atwoods. At first glance I thought she had gone jewelery-less but then saw those thin gold bangles on her right arm (I do like the bangles, this look would have been boring without them).

Mila Kunis stood out in a printed shirtdress by Lanvin, which she accessorised with a Bottega Venneta knot clutch and nude peeptoes.

Eva Mendes looked gorgeous in a lilac Roland Mouret number which she wore with a statement gold necklace.

I always look forward to seeing Sarah Jessica Parker on the red carpet because she never ever disappoints! She took in a play in NYC with husband Matthew Broderick wearing a tweed Oscar de la Renta ensemble, with suede Louboutins. Simply wonderful.

Eva Longoria continued her book promotion tour, opting for a Grecian style nude Victoria Beckham number, with matching nude heels and green drop earrings. She looks gorgeous!

Minka Kelly was spotted looking great at two events this week. First she wore an ivory, fitted sheath by Victoria Beckham, accessorising it with patent red pumps (Brian Atwoods) and a red clutch. I like the combination of the white, red and a little bit of gold.

Next she wore a purple, animal-print frock with full sleeves with nude peeptoes and a silver minaudiere clutch. I love this dress! It strikes the balance between fun and demure perfectly.

Alexis Bledel was also seen out and about this week, and this appearance was definitely my favourite. The knee-length, bedazzled tweed Oscar de la Renta just exudes elegancy and she looks ever so pretty!

Lake Bell was at a benefit, wearing this strapless polka-dot chiffon gown with lavender satin peeptoes. I like this look as it is but would have loved it had she done something exciting with her hair.

Spotted promoting her new movie, "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure", was Ashley Tisdale. At a Las Vegas do, she wore a simple LBD, but made the look interesting via the caged black heels and the statement necklace.

Then she wore a nude, bow adorned dress by Robert Rodriguez, with a black clutch and heels. I like the subtley sparkly straps of this dress.

Of Black & White

A lot of movie events saw a slew of black and white dresses at the weekend. And it goes to show once again, that you can never go wrong with a Little Black Dress.

Amy Adams wore a long sleeved, bejeweled dress with black peeptoes, this design with the power shoulders would have been boring on someone like Kim Kardashian but on Amy it was a welcome surprise. Mandy Moore was in London, for the premiere of the animated flick "Tangled" - she wore a simple strapless LBD but punched up the look with an ornate necklace and bright red satin Charlotte Olympia pumps.

Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly were at the NYC premiere of their movie "The Roommate". And Leighton totally rocked this dramatic gown with the leather top & cutouts by Michael Kors, love everything about her look. Co-star Minka Kelly went opposite, by wearing a soft, pale hued dress and adding beige heels to complete the look; lovin' her fishtail braid too.

PS. Anyone noticed how similar Minka & Leighton look?! Could be twins. Just sayin'.

Kate Bosworth wore a surprisingly similar dress as Leighton at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival in cold Utah. The dress is by Chloé and her shoes are by Isabel Marant, sure the tights would normally look unecessary with this dress but I can't blame Kate for wearing them! It's always freeeezing at Sundance so she just came prepared! The lovely Emily Blunt was in Hollywood for her new film, called "Gnomeo & Juliet" (animation movie). She looked very elegant in a white Zac Posen number, worn with nude peeptoes.

People's Choice Awards - Hits

So here are the good lookin' people with the good lookin' fashion. Natalie Portman (pictured with Ashton Kutcher) looked radiant in a ruffle-layer dark blue Jason Wu number. Her hair looked pretty and I loved her drop crystal earrings. Emma Roberts too wore a strapless ruffled Dior LBD, with rose satin Brian Atwood pumps and pale pink drop earrings! Simple, yet elegant.


Selena Gomez wore a pale Paul Ka number with Guiseppe Zanotti peeptoes and Taylor Swift wore a similar coloured J Mendel dress with Prada heels and Neil Lane jewels.



Kim Kardashian looked quite nice! (That's supposed to be a surprise tone.) She was wearing a Malandrino dress which she paired with nude peeptoes. I quite liked her hairstyle too, it's a change from her usual style. Minka Kelly & Leighton Meester (co-stars in new suspense flick "The Roommate") looked so great! I especially love how Leighton played with colour - from those gorgeous coral earrings to the smashing Vionnet dress. Both wore Brian Atwood heels and Minka was carrying a Bottega Venneta knot clutch.
