Amy Adams in L'Wren Scott - 2013 Guys Choice Awards

Amy Adams attended this year's Guys Choice Awards to promote her upcoming superhero flick, 'Man of Steel', starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy as Lois Lane.

Amy looked terrific in a metallic purple hued L'Wren Scott sheath with thin shoulder straps and a below the knees hemline.  She wore her slightly shortened hair in soft waves and completed the look with a matching clutch and sleek Casadei heels.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Bradley Cooper are bonuses.

Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott - 2013 Cannes Film Festival Day 5 & 'Inside Llewyn Davis' Premiere

Nicole Kidman attended the premiere of 'Inside Llewyn Davis' on the fifth night of the Cannes Film Festival.

The jury member wore a vivid blue, printed gown from her favourite L'Wren Scott.  The Fall 2013 dress featured an eclectic print that Nicole wore incredibly well; I also liked her unique, bouffant hairstyle (and she certainly charmed her husband, Keith Urban).

Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott - 2013 Oscars

Nicole Kidman went back to one of her favourites, L'Wren Scott, for her Oscars dress.

Her black and gold dress featured a scoop neckline and a figure-hugging silhouette, and even if the design near the waist reminded me of Batman, it didn't take anything away from the dress.

An updo and Fred Leighton jewelry completed her look.  This is one of Nicole's best looks in recent years.

2013 Golden Globes - Black (Part I)

Black reigned supreme on the red carpet at this year's Golden Globe Awards.

Kate Hudson was splendid in a black Alexander McQueen gown with full sleeves and a gaping keyhole neckline.  What really made the gown look spectacular was the starburst like gold embellishment around the neck and the detail at the waist.

And of course, the look was completed with her bright, cheery red carpet laugh.

Sarah Jessica Parker in L'Wren Scott - Forget Me Not Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Forget Me Not Gala to support the Alzheimer's Association on Monday in New York City.

She wore a navy L'Wren Scott sheath, topping it with a matching velvet YSL jacket.  Wavy tresses and black Manolo Blahniks completed her look.

Considering the mood of the event, this dark look was suitable.

Julianna Marguiles in L'Wren Scott - 2012 amfAR Gala

Julianna Marguiles was in attendance at the amfAR Gala in Cannes.

She wore a simple, v-neck black L'Wren Scott dress that was frankly, very uninspiring.  Love her earrings though.

Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott - 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards

Nicole Kidman was radiant in a L'Wren Scott Fall 2012 dress at this year's Academy of Country Music Awards which she attended with husband Keith Urban.

Nicole wore the shortened version of the runway gown which made her look feel fresh but I wouldn't have minded seeing her in the full-length version.

Sleek, straight hair and Cartier jewels brought a sense of luxe to the prim feel of the collared neck and red L'Wren Scott heels finished off the look.

Christina Hendricks In L'Wren Scott - 2012 BAFTAs

Christina Hendricks of 'Mad Men' attended the BAFTAs as her movie 'Drive' (starring Ryan Gosling) was nominated in a few categories.  She wore a L'Wren Scott dress.

Christina has a voluptuous figure which means that getting the dress right at functions like these is always tricky however I think she wears this black corseted satin gown quite well.  The bow at the waist feels a little unnecessary but I'm willing to let that pass.

A messy hairstyle, bright red lips and a jeweled clutch completed her look.

Shailene Woodley In L'Wren Scott - 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Shailene Woodley wore a L'Wren Scott Spring 2012 dress to the SAGs.

The shimmery floral column dress was lovely but seemed too grown up on the young actress.  I wish she'd worn something youthful and eyecatching.  The sore lack of any jewelery is also contributing to the dullness of her look.

Shailene Woodley In L'Wren Scott - 2012 National Board of Review Awards Gala

Shailene Woodley wore a L'Wren Scott dress for the National Board of Review Awards event.

I'm not loving this pink, flower embroidered dress on Shailene - it's unnecessarily aging & a little dowdy.

I do, however, like her hair & make-up.

Joely Richardson In L'Wren Scott - 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' NYC Premiere

Joely Richardson wore a L'Wren Scott dress for the NYC premiere of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'.

The forest green dress had full sleeves and looked elegant on Joely.

She wore it with oodles of gold accessories and this time, tied her hair up in a neat ponytail.

Ashley Greene in L'Wren Scott - 'Breaking Dawn Part 1' Premiere

Looks like Ashley Greene's going to be the promo girl for the 'Breaking Dawn Part 1' events this year.

At the Brussels premiere, Ashley wore a gold, plunge neck L'Wren Scott mini. She wore L'Wren Scott at the 'Eclipse' premiere too - click here.

She looks really polished and has put in a lot of attention to detail - the sleek hair, gold earrings and gold nails.

The only complain I have is concerning those nude, patent Brian Atwood pumps - she could have gone all out and worn strappy gold heels.

She was joined on the red carpet by Rob Pattinson, whose scruffy facial hair is worrying.

Country's Big Night

The Country Music Awards (Academy of Country Music Awards) took place Sunday night in LA.

Carrie Underwood walked the red carpet in a rich purple satin couture gown by Jean Fares - I like the relaxed fit of it and the colour really stood out.

Taylor Swift worked her signature soft and feminine style in a pale yellow Elie Saab confection. It's pretty and ethereal and Taylor looke
d lovely like always.

Celine Dion wore the same black Vivienne Westwood dress spotted on Heidi Klum last week (see below post!). She added some dazzle to the look by way of diamonds and looked amazing!

Nicole Kidman's navy snakeskin sheath by L'Wren Scott only half impressed me. Not loving the furry bit near the neckline or the split by the hem at all! Without that this looked would have totally worked.

Brooklyn Decker showed off her new hairstyle (cute!) in a rose coloured, skintight sheath by Victoria Beckham and wore black slingbacks by Stella McCartney. It's a minimal yet warm look from her and certainly stood out in a sea of elaborate gowns.

Julianne Hough wore a bright orange halter neck dress by Randi Rahm. It's way too bright for my taste, and add to that the gold clutch and gold gemstone cuff - overload!

The Oscars - Purples & Blues

Hilary Swank, Amy Adams and Marisa Tomei sported dark blue.

I'm not feeling Hilary's feathery Gucci gown, it's too much and the whole feather hem thing is so 2009.

Amy Adams' sparkly cap-sleeve gown by L'Wren Scott evoked old Hollywoo
d, especially with the hair but the emerald and diamonds were a bit of a turn off.

Marisa's dress was a vintage Charles James and it's not my favourite - the hemline is a little too much.

Natalie Portman wore a purple silk-chiffon Rodarte dress with an off-shoulder neckline. This particular shade of purple (more like plum) does wonders for pregnant celebrities! Jessica Alba wore a beautiful Marchesa gown to the Oscars in 2008 in a similar hue. I'm loving those swingy earrings from Tiffany & Co.

Scarlett Johansson wore a lacy Dolce & Gabbana dress with high neck and a drop down back (not pictured) - it's just too much lace for me.

Independent Spirit Awards

The Independent Spirit Awards (Indies for short) took place on Saturday night and the stars turned up in their best "cool" togs. The Indies are traditionally very laid back and fun and the celebrities kept that in mind while dressing for the occassion.

Nicole Kidman wore a strawberry-red L'Wren Scott lace sheath with pointed pink kitten heels from Charlotte Olympia. She's playing with two trends here, red & pink and pointy pumps (they're totally in, according to Vogue), she looks nice but what's with the weird hands?

I looked at Natalie Portman and went "Awww!". The expectant actress looked absolutely gorgeous, and radiant in a Givenchy number with nude Stella McCartney heels - it's got a free-spirit thing going on, totally appropriate for the Indies.

Michelle Trachtenberg looked very sophisticated in a cream, wrap-dress by Pamela Rolland - cream/white dresses were popular at the Indies this year.

Mia Wasikowska (from Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland") wore a Rodarte dress with cutouts and Nicholas Kirkwood heels - it's a bit of a washout, some colour was needed! She should have gone for something like these
(Nicholas Kirkwoods) instead.

Eva Mendes wore a printed Chanel Resort dress with some cool aqua coloured Pierre Hardy heels and tons of pizzazz! Her confident pose and attitude alone sells this look.

Rosario Dawson went for an animal-print Burberry dress with slate grey Brian Atwoods. I'm not loving this dress much, the ruffles seem heavy somehow.

Both Zoe Saldana and Kerry Washington wore Dolce & Gabbana. The label is coming out with a lot of floral print and lacey stuff and these designs showcase that. I personally think it looks too busy but Zoe's slender frame makes the look work, she added some bright red Brian Atwoods to the mix.

Kerry's black, floral top & skirt were too loud for me, add to that the animal-print clutch, blunt bangs and red shoes - it's an overload!

Kate Walsh wore a cream, one-shoulder Max Mara number with pointy nude heels - kind of boring.

Vera Farmiga wore a printed red wrap dress with brown accessories in the form of the necklace, belt and shoes - it's very Indies style.

Just Go With Black

No, please don't! Not when there are so many lovely colours in existence - this comment is directed towards one Jennifer Aniston. Such a shame that she wore such a boring dress to the "Just Go With It" premiere! The Dolce & Gabbana dress isn't really fit for the premiere of a comedy and the entire look is very drab.

Nicole Kidman gets a pass for wearing black - a) because she wore colour only yesterday and b) it's leather with a pop of pink in the form of her blouse. I'm just going to ignore the slightly maniac smile on her face.
She's wearing L'Wren Scott.

Brooklyn Decker saved the day (or rather, the premiere)! For she knocked it out of the ballpark in the animal print knee-length Dolce & Gabbana number - she manages to look sexy and demure at the same time! Loving the dark purple Brian Atwoods too.

Golden Globes - Misses

Sadly, there was some questionable fashion doing the rounds at the Golden Globes too.

Julianne Moore wore a bright pink
Lanvin gown with a puff shoulder sleeve - not flattering in the least! The dress itself did not look polished enough either and the gold choker she wore around her neck was half hidden under that monstrous sleeve. Kyra Sedgwick's canary yellow Pucci chiffon silk gown was nice and a welcome change in colour, but it seemed to swamp her delicate frame. Heidi Klum was just a hot mess - the printed Marc Jacobs dress wasn't exactly suited to such a high glamour event and her make up was so loud! It did not do her pretty face justice at all.

Tina Fey's navy velvet L'wren Scott gown just wasn't that great, the material made it look a little tacky and I just wish Tina would wear something colourful and bright once in a while! It would go perfectly with that smile of hers. Jennifer Love Hewitt's icy hued Ramona Keveza gown looked more like a wedding dress and the bust just looked bad!

Inception Premiere - Los Angeles

The final premiere of the movie, Inception took place on Tuesday night and once again, the three main stars of the movie were out, dressed up to the nines on the red carpet. Marion Cotillard impressed me most at this premiere with her midnight blue L'wren Scott sheath and Louboutins. Ellen Page looked cute in a green mini with a cutout near the neck and Leonardo DiCaprio looked dapper as usual.
