2014 Golden Globes - Black (Part I)

Cate Blanchett was as queenly and ethereal as always in a gorgeous, delicate black lace and tulle Armani Privé gown.  I was a little surprised as Cate does love to wear colour on the red carpet.  Nevertheless, she oozed sophistication with the addition of the faux-bob hairstyle, those gorgeous diamond earrings and the pink lips.

Melissa McCarthy In Marina Rinaldi - 2012 Oscars

Melissa McCarthy didn't wear Badgley Mischka, shocker.  

Also, instead of wearing a dark colour and full sleeves like both of her red carpet appearances of the past, Melissa wore this dusky rose coloured silk-chiffon gown by Marina Rinaldi.

The colour is beautiful on Melissa, and I like that she wore her hair in a bun to show off that embellished neckline.  Chopard jewelery and Brian Atwood heels (that were personally signed by him!) completed her look.

Melissa McCarthy In Badgley Mischka - 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards

The fabulous Melissa McCarthy of 'Bridesmaids' wore a Badgley Mischka dress to the SAGs.

The navy coloured gown with full sleeves, draping and embellishments was nice but sort of expected.  I really want to see her wearing red, she would be radiant in a red coloured gown!

2012 Golden Globes - Green

Evan Rachel Wood's sequined, peacock coloured Gucci gown was breathtaking.  It sparkled from all angles, and had great texture.  Despite being so dramatic, it didn't look silly or costume-ish.  She wore it with swept back hair, simple diamond studs and pink lipstick.
