2014 Golden Globes - Black (Part I)

Cate Blanchett was as queenly and ethereal as always in a gorgeous, delicate black lace and tulle Armani Privé gown.  I was a little surprised as Cate does love to wear colour on the red carpet.  Nevertheless, she oozed sophistication with the addition of the faux-bob hairstyle, those gorgeous diamond earrings and the pink lips.

Julianna Margulies in Reed Krakoff - 2013 Emmy Awards

Julianna Margulies of 'The Good Wife' attended the 2013 Emmy Awards looking lovely.

She wore a soft white, custom Reed Krakoff dress to the event which was a departure from the usual red carpet affair.  The dress was loose-fitting, but not shapeless and I liked how her hair was worn into a loose ponytail to compliment the vibe of the dress.

Julianna remains one of my perennial red carpet favourite.

Julianna Margulies in Chado Ralph Rucci - 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards

'The Good Wife' actress Julianna Margulies changed things up at the SAG Awards.

Usually one to wear backless column gowns in assorted colours, Julianna wore a black and white Chado Ralph Rucci dress that had a A-line skirt and a leg slit. I liked the overall concept but the skirt and the detail near the waist wasn't something I warmed to.

An elegant ponytail, statement earrings and heels finished off her unusual look.

Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli - 2012 Emmy Awards

Julianna Marguiles shed her neutrals obsession at this year's Emmy Awards.

The actress, who was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category wore a colourful gown from the Giambattista Valli Fall 2012 Couture collection.

I adored this strapless ballgown with a nature print in vivid green and a dash of purple.  Julianna picked up that bit of purple with her Fred Leighton earrings and wore the hair in a slick bun.

Julianna Marguiles in L'Wren Scott - 2012 amfAR Gala

Julianna Marguiles was in attendance at the amfAR Gala in Cannes.

She wore a simple, v-neck black L'Wren Scott dress that was frankly, very uninspiring.  Love her earrings though.

Julianna Marguiles In Calvin Klein - 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Julianna Marguiles went for a custom Calvin Klein gown for the SAGs.

The pale dress with floral adornments and an architectural bodice was nice on 'The Good Wife' actress, however, the severe curled hairstyle wasn't suited to this dress.

2012 Golden Globes - Purple/Pink

Jessica Alba wore a dress by Gucci.  The mauve coloured, strapless dress has silver embellishments and a train;  Jessica wore it with a bun, Bulgari jewels and a Roger Vivier bag.  That colour is divine against her tan.
